Students and families are invited to join us at Francesca Park to walk to school as a whole to honor Ruby Bridges, Ruby Bridges, a civil rights icon who, at the age of six, became the first African American student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South in 1960.
This day encourages students, families, and communities to walk to school together in a show of unity, respect, and celebration of diversity. It’s a way to reflect on the courage and bravery of Ruby Bridges while promoting inclusivity and standing against racism.

CAMPUS CORNER
WELCOMING THE GARDENING COMMITTEE
The new Garden and Beautification Committee at Robert Semple Elementary is dedicated to enhancing the school’s outdoor spaces and creating a more vibrant, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This team of volunteers work together to plant flowers, maintain the school garden, and ensure the campus stays beautiful throughout the year. Their efforts not only beautify the school grounds but also provide students with an opportunity to learn about nature and sustainability in a hands-on way.
GAGA PIT
This summer, our 2024 5th grade legacy project was completed. Last year's 5th graders were determined to leave the school with a super fun gift for the students to enjoy. We now have a GaGa ball court for students to enjoy at PE and recess.

GARBAGE PICKERS
As part of our dedication to campus cleanliness, PTG purchased a class set of litter pickers for students to beautify our campus. Students check these out from Mrs. Brown during recess. It is a fun and effective way to keep our campus clean!
