๐ โก๏ธ Morning Drop-Off Safety Reminders ๐ธ๐
Our studentsโ and staffโs safety is our top priority. As we return for the second semester, please follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe drop-off process:
๐ฆ General Reminders
- ๐ข Drive Slowly: Maintain low speeds when entering, moving through, and exiting the car line and parking lot.
- ๐ธ Crosswalk Safety: Be vigilant of staff, students, and parents using the crosswalk. โ ๏ธ Cars passing others at high speeds have nearly caused accidents.
- โ No Passing: Do not pass other vehicles unless a staff member gestures for you to do so.
๐ Car Line Procedures
- โก๏ธ Pull Forward: Drive up to the very first drop-off spot, marked as "1" on the pole, to maximize the number of students exiting safely.
- ๐งณ Student Exit: Students must exit from the passenger side door onto the sidewalk. Help your child practice routines, such as having backpacks and coats ready to speed up the process.
- ๐ค Patience is Key: The parking lot can get busy. Please remain patient and courteous for everyoneโs safety.
โฐ Drop-Off Times
- ๐ช Front Car Line (7:15 - 7:50 am):
- All 5K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students, including those in Ms. Burnetteโs and Ms. Jenningsโ classes.
- ๐ Bus Loop (7:20 - 7:50 am):
- 4K students and Special Education students in Ms. Sweattโs, Ms. Wrightโs, and Ms. Korosecโs classes.
๐จ Tardy Procedures
- โ Car Line Closure: The car line closes at 7:50 am as the instructional day begins.
- ๐ Late Arrivals: If you arrive after 7:50 am:
- ๐ Park in a designated parking spot (not the fire lane).
- ๐ถโโ๏ธ Walk your child into the front office to sign them in.
- ๐ Tardy Marking: Students arriving in the classroom after 7:50 am are marked tardy. Entering the car line after 7:45 am could result in your child being late if they do not reach their classroom before the bell.
๐ Thank you for your continued cooperation and commitment to keeping all of our children and staff safe. Your patience and adherence to these guidelines make a big difference! ๐
PTO Announcements
๐ โจ Attendance Matters! ๐
Welcome to the second semester, Champions! Attendance is key to success, and every day counts! Check out AttendanceWorks.org for more tips and resources.
๐ Did You Know?
โ
Students who attend school regularly are more likely to succeed academically and socially.
โ
Missing just 2 days per month can lead to being chronically absent, impacting grades and learning.
โ๏ธ South Carolina Truancy Law
๐ 3 consecutive unexcused absences = considered truant.
๐ 10 or more unexcused absences = risk of intervention.
โฐ Morning Routine = Crucial!
Frequent tardies disrupt your childโs learning and cause them to miss:
- Morning instructions
- Building connections with peers
- A confident, focused start to the day
Letโs make this semester the best yet by prioritizing attendance! ๐

Welcome our new School Counselor!
Hi, everyone! My name is Gillian Porter, and I'm so excited to be joining NRES-AM as your school counselor. I'm originally from Exton, PA, and attended USC for my undergraduate and graduate degrees - go Gamecocks! I am so excited to support your students in reaching their full potential this year. Outside of school, I love reading, baking, and spending time with my orange tabby cat, Moe. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make this a great school year!
