UIL Teams
Calling all spellers! Any students who would like to sign up for 7th or 8th grade Spelling UIL, please sign up on the form posted in the Commons! Mrs. Clackler will be coaching and practices will be every Monday after school until 3:50. Our first practice is THIS Monday, Sept. 9th!
Art smart signups outside Ms. Diaczenko's door. I need 6th 7th and 8th graders.
This week is the 5th week of the six weeks. Please check your students skyward and Canvas accounts to make sure they are getting work turned in and are retesting test if needed. All late work needs to be completed by this Friday September13. Students were made aware of these expectations on the 2nd day of school at our grade level meetings. IF, your child was in Mrs. Priddy's class, please refer to the emails I sent last week, as we are still organizing and grading papers to check the status of their grades and missing assignments.
Reward Party information:
1st reward party is September 19:
The requirements are:
1.No Zeros in any class - this means all work had to be turned in by the 5th Friday of the six weeks.
2. No discipline of ISS or DAEP would be allowed to go - this means if your child got a detention they could still earn the reward party
3. No more than 2 unexcused absences - Parents/Guardians need to inform school every time a child is absent. Communication is key. If your child has been absent due to illness, please let our office ladies know.
4. Students could still fail and go to the party - This allows all students who are on different levels of learning and still progressing to attend. This also allows administration to find students who are struggling and help support students through our MTSS process.
ALL LATE WORK WILL BE DUE BY THE 5th FRIDAY OF THE SIX WEEKS. With our district policy to allow 4 days to turn in late work and allow time for reteaching & retesting, students would not have the time to allow for these policies, if new assignments were assigned during the final week of a six weeks. This also helps with UIL eligibility timelines. Any new assignments that are assigned in the final week of the six weeks will be placed on the following six weeks grade book.
If you were unable to attend the parent cafe on open house night, here are the two presentations on skyward and canvas:

Canvas: Presentation
Absent Calls - If a teacher counts a student absent, parents will get an automated message, call, or voicemail letting them know their student is absent, this could be one period or all day. If a student checks in and out of any period that they are counted absent, example: went to the orthodontist, parents/guardians will receive an automated message, call, or voicemail letting them know their student is absent. The same will apply even if a parent calls and let the front office know they will be absent.
Chromebook Insurance, click here to purchase: https://schooldevicecoverage.com/
Continue to remind students to charge their chrome books. If they get too low, and eventually run down to 0%, it is very likely they die completely, and Mrs. Fulton is unable to bring them back. We do not have extra chromebooks or extra chargers. They should keep them at least 30-40% or higher at all times. I have two charging stations in the library that can be used if necessary.
Parents if you need to change the method of how your child will be picked up for the day please call the front office not later than 2:15 with these changes.
Reminder of parent expectations. If you have any questions about something that happens on campus, please call the school at 940-393-7300 and talk with an administrator. We are here to help in any way we can. The reason this expectation was explained in parent meetings is to have open communication between parents and our staff.
