Elementary Principal Introduction
Dr. Brittanie Watson's Introduction Letter
Dear Lake Park Audubon Elementary Families,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the summer break. My name is Dr. Brittanie Watson, and I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Lake Park Audubon Elementary School. I am thrilled to join this wonderful community and start this journey of learning and growth together.
As we get ready for the new school year, I can't wait to meet our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, supportive families, and involved community members. Building strong relationships is key to a successful school, and I am committed to creating a welcoming and collaborative environment.
A bit about me: I grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN, and moved to the Fargo/Moorhead area after high school. In 2017, I graduated from Concordia College with degrees in mathematics and education. I started my career as a middle school math teacher at Discovery Middle School in Fargo, where I taught for four years. During this time, I also earned my master's degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM).
Two years ago, I worked as a site coordinator for the head start program at MAHUBE-OTWA. After that, I became the principal at Hankinson Public School. Over the past three years, I completed my doctorate in educational leadership from MSUM, furthering my dedication to providing the best education for our students.
On a personal note, I live with my mom, Ann Watson, and our two dogs, Ruby and Oreo. We enjoy traveling, watching movies, playing board and card games, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends. These activities bring joy and balance to my life, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and learning about yours as well.
As we approach the new school year, please know that my door is always open. I am here to listen, support, and work together to ensure every child at Lake Park Audubon Elementary has a positive and enriching educational experience. Your insights and feedback are valuable as we strive to create an environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for welcoming me into your community. I am eager to begin this new chapter and work alongside each of you to make this school year one of the best yet.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Brittanie Watson
