An Illuminating Lesson in Grade One
In our first-grade science class last week, our young scientists engaged in a hands-on activity that had them explore the fascinating world of light and materials. Given a variety of objects the students observed how light interacted with each. This engaging lesson sparked discussions about transparency, translucency, and opacity, laying the foundation for a bright journey into the wonders of science.

School News and Reminders
Last Day of Kindergarten
The Kindergarten school year ends earlier than other grade levels. The last day of school for Kindergarten students will be Tuesday, June 11. Parents will need to make arrangements for childcare beyond that date. As a reminder, we do not host an end-of-the-year ceremony, but the students' hard work and accomplishments will be recognized through classroom celebrations.
Grade 4 Send-off Event Planned for June 18
Save the date! We will be holding our Grade 4 Send-off Ceremony the morning of Tuesday, June 18. The event will celebrate our fourth-graders upon the completion of their elementary studies. More detailed information will be shared with parents as we get closer to the date of the program.
CORI Checks Available for Parent Volunteers
With the return of the spring weather, planning for end-of-the-year field trips and activities are underway. Parents who would like to participate as chaperones or volunteers must have an approved CORI (criminal Background Check) on file with the Taunton Public Schools. To complete the CORI process, please stop by the main office with an active, state-issued ID card or driver's license. Approved CORIs are good for three years. If you are unsure whether you have a current CORI on file with the district, please call the school and we will check for you.
