Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Families ,
As we welcome November, it's a wonderful time to reflect on what we're grateful for and how much we've accomplished so far this year! This month, we’ll focus on the importance of gratitude, kindness, and growth—both in the classroom and within our school community.
I encourage all of us to take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families! The 2.5 weeks before our much-needed Thanksgiving break will be fast and furious. Please ensure that your student is at school every single day leading up to Thanksgiving break. Every day counts as we are preparing students for college and high school final exams.
Also, next Wednesday, 11/13 is the drop date for college classes. That means if your student is not on track to earn a passing grade in their college classes, we will need to meet and determine if your student should drop their college class. We do not want students to have a D or F on their college transcript and risk placement on Academic Probation or Suspension by Dallas College. At the same time, students are only allowed 6 drops as an undergraduate student. We want as few drops as possible because your student still has to complete two more years of college when they graduate from Trini Garza ECHS to complete their bachelor degree.
We are also hosting open house for interested 8th graders on Wednesday, 11/13 here at Mountain View College from 6:00-7:00. Please share this with your friends, neighbors, relatives- anyone who wants to learn more about our program!
Wishing everyone a month filled with gratitude, progress, and togetherness!
warmly,
Ms. Sanchez
