At CHS, even in introductory Spanish classes, structured student talk is infused throughout the lessons. Such activities build community as well as language acquisition!

As part of the rich, hands-on child development programming at CHS, students learn all about caring for infants. Here, Ms. Fleck demonstrates how to cuddle an infant sometimes.

A quiet place to read

Sometimes, popping outside your classroom for a few minutes to catch up on classroom reading just feels right...quiet hallways during class time allows for this to happen. Thank you to ALL staff who help to maintain a learning-focused environment, across CHS!

CHS ASB/Leadership at the OASC Spring Conference.

Last weekend, the CHS ASB/Leadership students had a great time and learned a lot at the OASC Spring Conference. They are bringing back several new ideas to make CHS even better next year.

CHS Garden Club Growing the School

On Friday, our CHS Garden Club worked hard and made two new garden plots in the CHS courtyards. It is so cool to see these areas being used again as we continue to beautify the school. It will be really interesting to see what they plant and grow this year.

Principal Advisory Committee (PAC) Makling Postive Difference!

The students on the Principal Advisory Committee (PAC) meet on Friday and are working on several proposals to make the school even better. Thank you to all of them for sharing their voices and working to make a positive difference in our CHS nation

National Honor Socity Blood Drive

MERS/CSD Summer Academy - 2024

We had 40+ students attend the first MERS Summer Academy information meeting on Friday. This is an exciting opportunity for CHS scholars who may see themselves serving in the field of education in the future to have a paid internship supporting CSD district school sites this summer and also be on a track to become teachers. There is still time to sign up if you are interested. Contact Kris Dowell or Carl Reinhold for more information.

We appreciate our CHS Teachers and Staff! May 6th -10th is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Please take the time to say thank you and appreciate a CHS Teacher or Staff member next week. We have the best staff, and all of you are appreciated!

Thank you to our CSD Custodial and Maintance Departments to Fix Darin!

Twice this week, we had drain backup in the east wing of the school because of the heavy rain and clay in the pipes. Our awesome custodial staff worked quickly to clean and sanitize everything while our maintenance department worked to line up three different plumbers to address the problem quickly. One of the companies was at CHS until midnight last night, and we have several other plumbing companies coming to inspect the problem to work on a more permanent fix. We appreciate everyone that is working so hard to address the issue. Thank you for all your hard work.

CHS hosted the Middle School Track Meet

On Thursday, CHS hosted the Middle School Track Meet. Our students supported track teams from OMS, CMS, and several other schools in this annual and fun event.

CHS Performing Arts Department's “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Outstanding Job with the CHS Performing Arts Department's presentation of “Little Shop of Horrors.” The Spring Musical was a huge success this opening week with great performances. Thank you to everyone who has seen this fun and outstanding performance. If you have not gotten the chance, there are a few performances left, so please support our Performing Arts and watch this Musical on May 5th, 10th at 7 PM and/or on May 11th at both 2 PM and 7 PM in the CHS Auditorium. So come and support our outstanding students and the Performing Arts Today!
