Lanakila Baptist High School
July 2020
Re-Opening & Safety Procedures
I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the re-opening plans for Lanakila Baptist High School. We have been working hard to get things in order so that we can send you the most up-to-date information in regard to the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. The following information is our current plan of action as we look to start school on August 17th.
Please remember that these plans are based on the current guidelines of the CDC and the State of Hawaii, and are subject to change if/when the pandemic changes.
If things change, and we need to switch to distance learning, we will follow the same model as we did last year. More information will come if things appear to be heading this way.

- 6-foot markings will be placed outside of classrooms/restrooms to allow for adequate spacing.
Face Coverings
- Masks are required throughout the school day except while eating lunch at the picnic tables.
- Students who are unable to wear a face mask due to health issues must have a note from their primary health provider and wear a face shield.
Breaks, Lunch, Oasis & Water
To prevent the spread of germs, we are taking the following precautions:
- Students are encouraged to bring home lunch to school as the Oasis will be closed at this time.
- Students must bring a water bottle daily as the water fountain will be off-limits. The water filling station will be available during lunchtime only so it can be sanitized.
- The microwaves and hot water dispenser will NOT be available.
- Prepackaged snacks and canned/bottled drinks will be available for purchase during lunchtime only.
- There is to be no eating during class. Students may only eat at the picnic tables where they are appropriately distanced and allowed to remove their masks.
Please remind your child about the dangers of sharing food, drinks, or other items that go near the mouth/face.
