The HS Concert Band participated in the OMEA District VI Large Group Adjudicated Event, earning a Superior (I) Rating. This rating qualified the band to compete in the state contest at the beginning of May.

In case you aren't familiar with the process, they were adjudicated by three judges on their stage performance and then proceeded to a room to sight-read a piece of music that neither the students nor our director had ever seen. After viewing it for 8 minutes, they performed it for a fourth judge (they were not allowed to make any sound on instruments until performing it one time).
