Internal Monitoring
Internal Monitoring Community of Practice
The purpose of this Community of Practice is to build the capacity of the district of residence to monitor services PS to 22 to ensure and maximize student outcomes.
This event is by invitation only. The purpose of the training is to empower district special education leaders to take information shared with them virtually about specific areas of the ETR and IEP and replication the information in their district to create an internal monitoring system in their own districts. The benefit of an Internal Monitoring system allows for Professional Development for district staff as well as monitor compliance and maximize student outcomes through well written ETR and IEPs.
The Community of Practice will allow district leaders to learn together as well as discuss issues in this process with their peers. Also the SST6 consultants will provide coaching to attendees to assist them in replicating the information/practice in their home districts. We ask that you think of the leaders of the district that work with all ages and all abilities. Do you work with ESC partners? Ask them to attend with you as you learn this information. Students benefit as so will staff members as they learn from you!

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE?
- A community of practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common concern, a set of problems, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfill both individual and group goals.
- Communities of practice often focus on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Interaction on an ongoing basis is an important part of this.
- Many communities of practice rely on face-to-face meetings as well as web-based collaborative environments to communicate, connect and conduct community activities.
