Monthly Newsletter- October Issue
Happy Fall!
Dear Delaney School Families,
We have had a terrific start to the 2018-2019 school year. Our biggest challenge has been the unpredictable New England weather!
Students and teachers have settled into their daily routines, and the classes are invested in learning. We are all RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN each and every day in the Delaney School.
It was great to meet many of you at Open House on September 12th. Thank you for taking the time to meet the teachers and learn about curriculum expectations for your children. Children do best when parents and teachers work collaboratively to support them in their academic journey.
Please mark your calendars now for our "Coffee with the Principals" sessions that Mr. Martes and I will be hosting throughout the year. We will meet in the Vogel Auditorium at 9:00 AM on November 15, March 27, and May 31. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Miss Kathleen Maloney

Important Reminders
As Dr. Cameron mentioned in his August Superintendent's Bulletin, the Parent and Student Handbook provides students and families with information about the schools. We ask parents to review the handbook, particularly the information about what we expect of the students, with their children and complete a Student Handbook Verification Sheet. Please print the page, sign, and return to school with your children as soon as possible.

After School Arrangements
Please remember to contact the Delaney School Office at the start of each year if your child has after school plans other than riding the bus home (YMCA, Adirondack Club, Brownies, etc.). The office needs written confirmation every year with specific days of the week for your child's after school plans.
Did You Know?
Head lice cause between 12 million and 25 million infestations each year, mostly in children under 12 years. Despite the persistent social stigma associated with head lice, they have nothing to do with poor hygiene and seem to prefer healthy, clean heads.
Please see the attached informational page from our school nurses about head lice. WPS Lice Information Sheet
Safety Drills
We have already had a successful fire drill practice and bus evacuation practice this year. All students were safe and responsible during both drills. I'd like to give special thanks to School Resource Officer Pellegrini, the Wrentham Police Department, and the Wrentham Fire Department for their help with our safety drill.
Halloween Safety Talks
Members of the King Philip Honor Society will be visiting classrooms during the week of October 22 to talk to students about Halloween safety.
