Learning Labs Rotate Tuesday January 7th
On Tuesday January 7th, we will be rotating learning Learning Labs: Teacher Learning Labs
Why do we rotate? Canyon View High School spaces were designed as student-owned spaces, and teachers include space use in their planning. Each unique space provides a unique learning opportunity. For example, some spaces provide opportunities for small group collaboration while others allow for easier presentations by individuals or teams.
Teacher learning labs will NOT update in synergy. Our teachers communicated their new lab locations in class and on students' Google classrooms. We will also have learning lab locations posted around campus. You can also find learning lab locations on the following link: Teacher Learning Labs

Civics Test Requirement for Graduation
Civics Test - did your child take this test in 8th grade?
Both our feeder districts, Avondale (AESD) and Litchfield (LESD) Elementary School Districts, have administered the state required Civics test to students in 8th grade. AESD gave the test to our current 9th grade students (Class of 2028) and current 10th grade students (Class of 2027). LESD gave the test only to our current 9th grade students (Class of 2028).
We have records from both the Avondale and Litchfield Districts of which students received a passing score. We are working to make sure the right individuals at each high school receive this information. Please do not contact the feeder districts to request scores.
In addition to the opportunities for our students to meet the Civics test graduation requirement while they were either in AESD or LESD, we also offer students the opportunity to pass the Civics test during high school. CVHS tests beginning in the 10th grade and will continue to pull students through their senior year who have not yet tested/passed the test.
Counselors Corner
COURSE SELECTION FOR GRADES 10 AND 11:
Counselors will be working on course selection all this week. It is imperative that the course selection forms are completed, signed by the student, and signed by the parent.
PATHWAYS:
It is important for everyone to know that CTE Pathways are a two year consecutive program. For example, Marketing I and Marketing II. A pathway is not two separate programs such as Marketing I and Graphic Design I. The requirement is for the student to be in a two year pathway.
BALANCING OF CLASSES FOR NEXT SEMESTER:
Counselors have been asked to take a look at class rosters and make necessary changes to student schedules. Counselors will communicate any and all changes with the students. If you have concerns or questions please reach out to your grade level Administrator.
DUAL ENROLLMENT:
Dual Enrollment questions should be directed and answered by Mrs. Quezada our College and Career Specialist. Here is her picktime link. Schedule an appointment with her!
