Parents and Families,

We deeply appreciate all that you have done this year to support your students with their educations. We know that it has been a school year of many challenges and celebrations. It was with great joy and anticipation that we welcomed back students into our buildings the last few weeks. Being able to see so many of your students in-person, and continuing to connect with many online has been wonderful. We appreciate your continued partnership with our school teams, as we transition from CDL to Hybrid.

Our Parent and Family Collaboration Group will be meeting on April 12th at 5pm. This group is for parents and families of students supported by an IEP or 504 plan. The focus of this group is:

• To provide input to the district in establishing priorities and goals for WLWV schools in supporting students with disabilities
• To be key communicators in developing deeper understanding around complex issues in special education
• To support collaboration in the special education process between parents and district educators
• To support the awareness of resources available to parents through the special education process and in positive community inclusion

Please join us for our session on 4/12! We will be following up on our focus topics, including:

• An exciting update from Program Manager Remo Douglas about our middle school playgrounds
• An update about our Intelligent Lives viewings
• Systems of collaboration for school teams and families

All Born In Community Support Drop-In Sessions

Every Thursday from 12-2pm via Zoom

The ABI Community works to provide you tools, tips and strategies to navigate early childhood services, special education services, and inclusive communities. They also provide resources to support heath and safety, connections to the community, and an open ear and heart to families. As key stakeholders in our community, we wanted to share this recent article from the TIES Center around Inclusion. We know that we get to experience the power of inclusion with our students and community each day.
