RBHS BRIDGE Communication
Rock Bridge High School Newsletter: May 23, 2024
Mission: Rock Bridge High School is a community in which ALL students and staff inspire each other to become lifelong learners.
Rock Bridge Families,
The end of a school year is an important time for reflection. As a family, you may want to consider setting aside some time soon to discuss student achievements and challenges from this past year. Take the time to reflect on the progress made throughout the year. Celebrate both personal and group achievements, acknowledging the hard work and growth that took place. Identifying the challenges faced, and the strategies used to overcome them, provides valuable insights for future improvement.
As we head in to the summer months, we want to extend our sincerest appreciation for your support during the 2023-24 school year. It has been a pleasure partnering with you and your family in the pursuit of academic excellence.

Attendance Goal Update
We are working to clean up all our attendance records here at the end of the year. We will send a separate communication soon regarding the our final Attendance numbers.
RBHS Class of 2024
On Friday, May 17th we graduated our 51st class of Rock Bridge High School! We could not be more proud of these students for their accomplishments and the leadership they've provided our school community these past 4 years. This group started high school through computer screens their 9th grade year, and look what they've become! They showed us all that life's challenges are obstacles to be navigated not barricades that prevent us from advancement.
Semester 2 Grades
Grades for all RBHS students will be available in Campus Parent/Student by the end of day (4:00 pm) on May 24th.
RBHS Summer School 2024
In case you were not aware, Rock Bridge High School Summer School is being held at Hickman High School. This is due to construction on air handlers that will be happening on the campus of RBHS. We are grateful for the hospitality HHS is showing us this summer! To reach the RBHS Summer School Office, please call (573) 214-3100, listen to the options and select RBHS Summer School.
There will be an RBHS Summer School Open House on May 29th from 5:00 to 6:30 in the HHS Auditorium Center. You should plan to enter HHS at the North Entrance off their circle drive.
RBHS Office Summer 2024
This is a change from the original BRIDGE that was sent on May 23rd.
Due to construction on RBHS air handlers this summer, the Rock Bridge High School campus will be closed for the summer. Our offices will be moving to Gentry Middle School for the summer starting on June 2nd. Our office phone numbers will remain the same, but if you need to speak with someone in person, you'll need to visit us at GMS. We will be housed just inside the main entrance GMS doors.
CPS High School Cell Phones Guidelines for 2024-25
RBHS Families,
On Monday, May 13th, our secondary administrative team presented 2024-2025 cell phone guidelines to the Columbia Public Schools Board of Education. You can watch the presentation by visiting our Columbia Public Schools CPSTV website HERE (the presentation starts around 1 hour and 5 minutes). Attached, and below, you will find our 2024-2025 cell phone, and smart device, scholar expectations.
The intent of this communication is to provide these expectations early and often as we move forward with limiting distractions in all learning environments. We hope this information provides our families with the opportunity to discuss, and prepare for, our 2024-2025 cell phone (and smart device) protocols.
We will continue to keep you informed with updates throughout the summer and into the next school year. We want all students and families to be well-prepared to meet these new expectations and succeed in our academic community.
Thank you for your partnership as we work together to prioritize education for our students.
Student Laptop Information
May 23 will be the last day a student should have a laptop unless they are enrolled in Summer School. Teachers will communicate to students the last day the student will need the laptop in class. Once the student knows that they no longer need the laptop, it needs to be turned in to the media center with the charging cable. If you see that your student still has their laptop after May 23 (and they are not attending summer school) they need to turn it in ASAP to the media center in Hickman High School. If your student is attending summer school in person or online, the laptop needs to be turned in to the media center at Hickman High School by June 26.
End of Course Exams Wrap-up
Thank you to all families for supporting our EOC efforts this school year. We were able to achieve 99% completion! Below is a breakdown of completion rates by EOC.
- Government – 99% Completion
- Eng. 10 – 99% Completion
- Alg. 2 – 100% Completion
- Alg. 1 – 97% Completion
- Bio. – 99% Completion
Student Parking 2024-25
Due to CACC construction taking place during the 2024-25 school year, student parking will be reserved for Seniors and Juniors to begin the year. Once we have an idea of spaces available, we will entertain the idea of opening spaces to Sophomores.
June ACT Moved
Please be aware that the June 8th ACT will not be held at Rock Bridge. If you have signed up to take the June 8th test at Rock Bridge, look for communication from ACT about your new testing location. If you have questions about where your student is testing, log into their My ACT account for more details or contact the ACT help line for clarification.
