Families -
With the rush of the last day, I forgot to send out my final note!
As we wrap up this school year, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for entrusting your child(ren) with us. We are working hard to improve systems and protocols and I look forward to making some positive strides forward next year!
As we transition into the summer months, I wanted to share a few updates and reminders with you:
Student Achievements: Our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, creativity, and perseverance this year. From academic accomplishments to artistic endeavors, athletic achievements, and acts of kindness, each and every success is a testament to their incredible spirit and determination.
Family Partnership: Our GES families play a crucial role in the success of our students and school community. Thank you for volunteering in classrooms and on field trips. Thank you to the dads who ensured crosswalk safety on 11th street during the year. Thank you to the families who helped with assembly prep and clean up. And thank you to the families who joined our Site Accountability meetings and/or District Accountability meetings. Your ongoing support, involvement, and collaboration have been instrumental in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and enriching learning environment for all.
Whether you're embarking on new adventures, pursuing hobbies, or simply enjoying quality time together, I hope the summer months bring you joy, relaxation, and rejuvenation! Start looking for correspondence from me about the new school year in early August.
With gratitude,
Robin Wilkinson
Principal

Summer Chromebook Information
News from the Nurse
With summer right around the corner, we wanted to remind families of students that have medication stored at school to make arrangements to come get their medications before the end of the school year. We will not store any student's medication over the summer. Also, all student medication orders will expire June 30. You can download medication permission documents for the 24-25 school year here . As a reminder, any medication given at school must have a medication permission form signed by a medical provider, so we won't accept student medications in the fall that are not accompanied by a complete, signed medication permission form. If you have questions you can contact Angel Hartzell, GCS Health Aide (ahartzell@gunnisonschools.net) or Sherilyn Skokan (sskokan@gunnisonschools.net) GWSD District Nurse. Have a happy (and healthy) summer!

Junior Mountaineer Camp
New Spots Added
- Junior Mountaineers Camp is back again this summer to provide a unique summer camp opportunity to youth in the Gunnison Valley! This state-licensed camp will take place on the Western Colorado University campus and is specially designed for children ages 5-12. Junior Mountaineers combines athletics & physical activities with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) to create a summer full of adventures and learning. Each camp offering will have a different theme that the various STEAM activities are based around in addition to the regularly scheduled weekly activities such as: swimming at the Gunnison Recreation Center, rock climbing at the Western Fieldhouse, and/or a visit to the Gunnison Public Library.
