I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well! I want to take a moment to acknowledge our October student accomplishments.

Congratulations to our fall student-athletes on the completion of their successful seasons! Their hard work and dedication was inspirational and I look forward to seeing them in action during the winter! I also want to take a moment to thank Ms. Moore and all Riverview parents and staff who helped make our first dance of the school year such a success. This fun-filled event was our first Halloween themed dance. We also had an opportunity to meet with many parents during our fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. Additionally, we recently kicked off our intramural, lego and math league seasons.

During the month of November we'll continue to provide co-curricular student opportunities through our winter sports and intramural program, after school training sessions and multiple other clubs.

As we progress through the school year we look forward to providing these and other co-curricular activities, learning opportunities and events to our students. More information on these and other opportunities will continue to be listed in future newsletters. As always, we appreciate your support as we work together as a community in serving our students.

Middle-school Boys Basketball

Open to boys in grades 7-8. First practice 3pm Monday Nov. 4. $20; register via MyRec by Sunday Nov. 3.

Intramurals

Middle-School Intramurals offer a variety of physical activities for grades 5 & 6. The next session of Intramurals for grades 5-6 will meet from 2:45-3:30pm select days Nov. 6-Dec. 18. Free, but register via MyRec by Tuesday Nov. 5.

Middle-School Lifting

Open to grades 7-8. Learn the basics of athletic-based fitness training. Students who complete the class and pass the Free-Weight Safety test can use the PHS Fitness Center independently. 2:45-4pm Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday Nov. 25-Jan. 17 (except Nov. 27-28; Dec. 23-Jan. 1) in the Riverview Fitness Center. Free, but register via MyRec by Nov 25.

Nov. 27 - 29 - Thanksgiving Break

Nov. 27 - 2nd Trimester Begins

Dec. 20 - Last Day for Student prior to Winter Break

Jan. 2 - School Resumes

Jan. 20 - No School for Students - Teacher PD day

Feb. 13 - Parent-teacher Conferences 3pm to 7pm

Feb. 14 - No School for Students - Teacher PD day

Feb. 28 - No School for Students

March 6 - Beginning of 3rd Trimester

March 24 - 28 - Spring Break

April 18 - No School - Good Friday

April 21 - No School for Students - Teacher PD day

May 23 - No School for Students - Teacher PD day

May 26 - No School - Memorial Day

June 5 - 8th grade celebration - 5:45pm - on soccer field (weather permitting)

June 6 - Last day of school for students (students dismissed at noon)
