Walnut Street Wildcat Newsletter
Wildcat Weekly!
Dear Wildcats,
We hope you had a great weekend! We are nearing the end of our first trimester. Our trimester ends on December 1. Parent/Teacher Conferences are on December 5-7. At this point, you should have established an appointment with your child's teacher. We are looking forward to our continued discussions related to student success and student achievement.
Speaking of student success, our attendance data continues to improve from last year's numbers! Our percentage of chronically absent students is currently 14.4%, down from last year's numbers and down from our September numbers. Our daily attendance rate also remained at 95% from last month. Incredible growth Wildcats! See below for the pictures of some of our students who earned incentives for awesome attendance. Our goal is 0% of our students listed as chronically absent, so let's make that a reality!
This weekend our new playground was finished and our students were able to play on this for the first time. We thank everyone who made this a reality and our buildings and ground crew for their hard work and dedication. Check out the link below to see the article!
Please note that there will be an early dismissal day on November 22 and schools will be closed on November 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving Recess.
Mr. Wycoff and Mrs. Cegerenko won our staff PBSIS winners this week! Congratulations! Please see below to see some of our student winners this week... safe, responsible, respectful!
Please note that our December PTO meeting will be on December 6th. Please join us. Also in our PTO section below, please see two fliers: the first is the Holiday Shop and the other is for the Gift Basket Auction....save the date!
Finally, all of us here at Walnut Street Elementary wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving.
