Dear Erickson Families,

The 5th grade musical Finding Nemo entertained students and families last week! Great student performances and singing. Thank you Mr. Welch and Mrs. Zbizek for directing this masterpiece! See pictures below.

Looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at the PTO 30th Birthday Bash from 5:30-7:30: Games, prizes, Pie in the Face event, glow party in the gym, etc. (see agenda below) There will also be a split the pot raffle (tickets are $20.00 at the event).

Thank you families and PTO for spoiling us this week for Staff Appreciation Week! Special thank you to the PTO parents for providing a variety of drinks, a candy bar, and a Jimmy Johns luncheon on Friday! We really appreciate the extra love this week. THANK YOU!

OPEN HOUSE is Thursday, May 16 from 5:30-7:00. This is a "stop in" event anytime during the 5:30-7:00 window. Although many stay the whole time. Families can stop by classrooms for activities, purchase baked goods from the PTO Bake Sale, visit the book fair in the gym, and hang out with friends (with parent supervision) at the playground. Come in and celebrate your child's school year successes! See flyer below.

Lunch with A Loved One is on Wednesday, May 22th from 12:00-12:40 (weather permitting)

Families are invited to Erickson to have a picnic lunch with their child(ren) from 12:00-12:40 on school grounds. Bring picnic blankets, chairs, etc. and enjoy time outside with your family. All students will eat from 12:00-12:40 on this day. RSVP for Picnic Here. See flyer below.

• *Please note: 1:40 Early Dismissal Days/School Improvement are on FRIDAY. Early Dismissal/School Improvement days are one Friday per month and FULL DAY students are dismissed at 1:40 while teachers are involved in professional development activities. Half-Day PM Kindergarten will attend school at their normal PM times. Preschool does not attend on early dismissal days.

The last 26 days, Erickson students will follow the below calendar to celebrate learning and the countdown to summer!

As the District moves to a new registration portal (Alma) for the 2024-2025 school year, ALL families (New and Returning) will be required to prove residency. Previous documents submitted are not able to be transferred to Alma.

In the meantime, please reference the attached proof of residency documentation to start compiling the necessary documents.

2024-2025 School Fees will be posted to your student(s) account shortly. Once the fee is

posted, you will receive an email from My School Bucks. Fees are due September 1, 2024.

• Erickson’s 30th Birthday celebration is on May 10th from 5:30-7:30 pm in the front parking lot (indoors if raining). Tickets for the Pie a teacher in the face are 3 tickets for $5. See flyer for more information. Can’t wait to see everyone who registered for the event!

• Teacher appreciation week is here. See the attached flier with events for the week and if you are able to donate to the coffee station item we would really appreciate it!

• The winner’s of the Lake Park High School scholarship for two student who had attended Erickson Elementary are Tanvi Murkonda and Olivia Kalicki!!! The Erickson PTO will be giving each of these former Erickson students a $750 check towards their college.

• The next PTO meeting is Monday, May 20th at 5:30 in the library at Erickson. The board elections will take place this day and if you are interested in any of the below positions, please email us at ericksonpto13@gmail.com.

• The last dine out night for the year is at Chick-fil-A from 11am-7pm on Thursday, May 16th. These are for mobile orders only so if any mobile order is placed during those hours. A percentage of the event sales will be donated back to Erickson Elementary PTO.

Dear Parents and Students:

Summer 2024 Basketball Camps are quickly approaching.

Camp will be held the weeks of:

JUNE 10th-13th and JUNE 24th-27th (Monday-Thursday)

The camps this year are going to be the same format as in years past, and continued to be ran by Mrs. Hilden (Westfield Middle School, PE Teacher) but the payment will be made to the Bloomingdale Park District. See this information page for details. Flyers will also be sent home with your child.

Please register online at www.bloomingdaleparks.org or in person at Bloomingdale Park District. Spots fill up quickly so please try to get registered as soon as possible. Registration begins APRIL 4th. Any questions please email Kelly Hilden at khilden@sd13.org.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Student Arrival:

Kindergarten-5 grade students can begin arriving at 8:25. Students should gather in the front of the building. Doors open at 8:30. Students should arrive by 8:40

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.
