Calendar Adjustment for 2025-2026 School Year
The MAPS School Board will be adopting a revised 2025-2026 school calendar in order to provide additional time for construction in the summer of 2026.
On March 4th, a proposal was shared with the school community that outlined changes to next year’s calendar. Since that time, another option has been identified that would end the school year even sooner, eliminating the need to start the 2026-27 school year a week after Labor Day.
On Monday, March 17, the School Board met and discussed the attached 2025-26 calendar option that would:
Start the school year before Labor Day.
Hold school on November 25, November 26, January 2, March 13, March 23, April 1 and April 2.
Hold Parent-Teacher conferences during the evenings in November and March and move the ‘no school days’ associated with conference days (teacher comp days) to the end of the school year.
Set the last day of school as follows:
- Elementary: Monday, May 18, 2026
- Middle: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
- High School: Thursday, May 21, 2026 (graduation)
The School Board is scheduled to determine next school year’s calendar at their meeting on April 7.
Inflatable Lung Event
On Wednesday April 9 during their Health, Physical Education or Communications class, DMMS 7th grade students attended the Substance Use Prevention/Inflatable Lung event to educate them on the dangers and impact of substance use, including vaping, tobacco, edibles, and fentanyl.
Here are some resources to learn more about the dangers of substance use, how to recognize and talk with your student about substance use, and ways to access additional resources.

Attendance Office Message
Please contact the Attendance Office if your student will be absent, arriving late or leaving early.
You can do this by:
- Calling the attendance line at (507) 387-5077, option 2---please leave a detailed message.
- Emailing dmmsattendance@isd77.org.
It is helpful for the Attendance Office to be notified in advance, ideally on the morning of or the day before, so they can prepare passes for students. While last-minute notifications are understood, planning ahead is appreciated to minimize disruptions to classroom and office.

PTA Message
DMMS PTA works to ensure that students in our community are supported and provided the resources and advocacy needed to succeed. As we head into the final weeks of school, we invite DMMS friends and families to join us as we continue to brainstorm and engage in activities and projects that allow us to do just that. Interested parties are welcome to join us 4/21, @ 5:45 pm in the flex space outside of the DMMS media center for our upcoming PTA meeting at which we'll be discussing Teacher Appreciation Week, leadership opportunities, and 2025-26 planning.
If you have any questions or concerns we encourage you to reach out via email at ptadmms@gmail.com or check us out on facebook!
With Much Appreciation,

Drop Off And Pick Up
Construction will continue throughout the 2024-25 school year as work on the new pool progresses. Construction fences and concrete barriers (see attachment) remain in place around the parent drop-off/pick-up area.
To help reduce congestion on Howard Drive and in the DMMS parking lot, we offer the following suggestions:
Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off Areas:
School Lot: Please use both lanes and take turns merging near the pick-up/drop-off area.
Crossview Church: Please enter the parking lot and find a parking space. DO NOT stop or park in the roundabout, as this may result in a ticket.
Caswell North: Please find a place to park and wait for your student. Students may use the trail from campus to Caswell North.

May 14th, 2025.

ALL DMMS student athletes should be picked up or use bus transportation home on these days. There is also no activity bus to Mankato West on Early release days.
