17th Annual College Fair Recap

Our 17th Annual District College Fair was a tremendous success! Held at San Gabriel High School on September 25th, the event brought together hundreds of students, families, and educators from Alhambra, Mark Keppel, and San Gabriel High Schools. With 50 colleges and universities in attendance, students had the opportunity to meet directly with admissions representatives, ask questions, and explore a variety of higher education options.

🎉Opportunity Drawing Winners🎉

Students were asked to submit their reflections/feedback after the College Fair. These students were entered into an Opportunity Drawing and pictured below are the winners!

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the AHS, MKHS, and SGHS PTSAs for their generous donations towards the appreciation goodie bags for our college fair representatives and student & staff volunteers.

Topic 1: “Four Systems of Higher Education”
Explore the four main types of higher education institutions—community colleges, California State University (CSUs), University of California (UCs), and private universities. Understand their unique benefits and how to choose the right one for your goals.

Topic 2: “College 101”

Learn the fundamentals of college applications, campus life, and academic success in this essential workshop. Get practical tips and insights to help you navigate the path to higher education with confidence.

Topic 3: “Financial Aid Overview”

Learn about the various financial aid options available to you for your education. This workshop will guide you through grants, scholarships, and loans, helping you plan for your academic journey.

Don't fret - the College & Career Centers have plenty of other events open to students in person during the school day and open to all families in the evening on Zoom!

We are excited to announce our October College & Career Center Family Presentation Series Sessions are open to all 9th–12th grade families! These sessions, held via Zoom, will cover key aspects of the college application process, ensuring you're well-prepared to tackle deadlines, meet requirements, and submit your applications with confidence. Whether you’re just starting your college journey or finalizing your applications, these presentations will offer essential insights.
