Principal's Message
We've had a great week at PRT! It has been so fun to have the student back in the building and to kick off the new school year. Even with only a few days, everyone seems to be settling into the routine. This week included lots of team building, getting to know you activities and setting expectations. We are confident that it is going to be a great school year full of so many incredible opportunities for our students!
As I talked with students yesterday and today at lunch, many shared that this week has been good but exhausting! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and is able to get some rest as we have a big week ahead next week!

Drop off / Pick Up - Car Line Procedures
The PRT car loop only enters the west parking lot by turning left. This means all cars must come north on Valley Road, turn right on 107th Street and then turn left into the parking lot. We understand this may not be ideal for some, especially those of you who live just east of the school, however, the traffic pattern was set by the city in an effort to protect the neighborhoods to the east and to prevent interference with the bus route. We kindly ask that everyone follows the set traffic pattern and that all car riders are dropped off at the west entrance. It only works if everyone follows the same route. Students may be dropped off starting at 7:30am. Thank you for your understanding. Please see the attached map.
Please note: Students cannot be dropped off on 107th Street. Students cannot be dropped off in the turn lane.
PRT 20 Year Celebration - Please join us!
Our PRT community - past, present and future - are invited to attend our community-wide 20 year celebration on Saturday, August 24. Fall sports scrimmages will start at 10am and a pep rally begins at 11am, followed by a carnival and self-guided building tours at 11:30am. Please consider bringing a bag chair for the scrimmages and pep rally. And come hungry, because there will be food trucks offering many different options! We are excited to celebrate all that PRT has achieved in the last 20 years and we hope you can join us!
Please note that all parking will be at CBAC and all drop off will be in the front. Cars may not drop off on the north side by the practice fields.
Volunteers Needed for 20 Year Celebration
We are looking for high school students to help facilitate the yard games at our community-wide celebration event on Saturday, August 24. Students can earn 2 hours of community service. Volunteers will need to park at CBAC and meet in the west parking lot at PRT at 11:10am that morning.

Yearbook Purchase
The district has changed yearbook companies which has impacted the ordering process. In the past, yearbook were sold through the school with enrollment fees on In Touch. Starting this year, there will not be an option to purchase a yearbook online or in the PRT office. All yearbook sales will run through our new yearbook company, Jostens and you will get a link at a later date.
Please join our OPS team by becoming a substitute teacher!
Olathe Public Schools relies on their substitute teachers to help our schools achieve a relentless pursuit of excellence. 3. Next, you will see steps to access all the forms that need to be submitted for participation. The Pre-Participation Physical packet will need to be printed and brought to your doctor appointment.
4. After completing the physical packet and all pages needing signatures are signed, you can now scan and upload (5 total pages) to InTouch registrations. Please make sure all 5 pages are scanned and saved as one document before you upload.
5. The last step is to submit forms for approval. Once approved you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that your forms were submitted successfully.
If you will be participating in multiple sports throughout the school year, you will not need to go back and register again. Flag Football
I hope this email finds you well and Excited for the New School Year ahead. As our KC NFL Flag and Girls Play Flag Football organization gear up for the upcoming Fall leagues starting on the weekend of September 21-22 with a meet & greet, followed by games the following week, I wanted to reach out to inform the families in Olathe about our new local locations offering leagues on Saturdays & Sundays for both All Girls & Coed leagues.
I have received approval from Julia Mauk for our E-Post, and it has been posted on the District Website. However, I believe that the information will reach more parents if it is sent directly from you. Attached to this email is a link to the PDF flyer for families to sign up and join our leagues. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in electronically distributing this information to the families at your school.
If you need additional hard copies of the flyer for distribution at your school, I am more than happy to deliver them to your school. Please indicate the quantity required, and I will prepare and collate them for you. Additionally, please let me know if you would prefer the copies in Spanish. Your support in promoting our leagues is highly valued. Here are the links to both of our websites for more information 😉: KC NFL Flag & Girls Play Flag Football
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
