Madonna Catholic School News
March 21, 2025
Dear Madonna Catholic School Community,
As we enter the third week of Lent, what a wonderful first week of Lent we had! We are so grateful for the chance to learn and grow together. It was also great to see families connecting during school interviews. A huge thank you to our school community for supporting the Grade 4 Bottle Drive and the Parent Council Bake Sale—your generosity and kindness make a big difference!
This week, we hear the story of the Transfiguration, when Jesus’ friends saw Him shining brightly on a mountain. God spoke from the clouds and said, "This is my Son. Listen to Him."
What does this mean for us? It reminds us to listen to Jesus in our hearts.
We can do this by:
👂 Listening to others when they need help or a friend.
🙏 Listening to God by taking time to pray and be quiet.
💜 Listening to our hearts and making good choices, even when it’s hard.
Let’s continue our Lenten journey by opening our hearts to Jesus and listening to His voice. He is always guiding us!
Wishing all of our families a restful spring break,
Mrs. Cathy Hinger, Principal
Mrs. Fiona Wimmer, Assistant Principal

Karaoke Club
For the last several weeks we have been running a Karaoke Club at Madonna! On Thursdays, students can showcase their talents, build self-esteem, and have fun with their peers. It's a great opportunity to express creativity and gain confidence in a supportive environment.
All students are welcome to join – whether they love to sing, dance, or just enjoy the fun! We can’t wait to see their talents shine!
Let’s build community together!

Thank you so much to the students and their community who raised $7994.20 for their library!
There are already plans for creating another reading space and getting more books, but we would love more ideas!
We have been asking students for their thoughts on what they would like to see and now we are asking the MCS community for ideas. If you have any ideas please email Mme. Bonsant at nadine.bonsant@eics.ab.ca.
