PRINCIPAL PENOYER'S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Ahoy, Patriot Families!
Check out the PTO Updates link above
Let's wrap up the year with some Good News!
1. Congratulations to our Liberty students, staff and community for helping Liberty earn the US News and World Report Best Elementary School designation this year. I am so proud of the tremendous effort we all put in each and every day. Way to go, Liberty Patriots!
2. It's official! We applied for an SRO grant and it has been awarded. Our officer will split time with our campus and Whispering Wind. These officers will work to build relationships with students and support safety efforts on campus. We are working on filling this position starting in January 2025.
3. The Lions Club donated several $100 gift cards to PVSchools to help teachers. This donation is intended to help support classroom needs and provide additional resources for students. The Lions Club would like teachers to know that they are making a difference in the lives of so many children! 4th Grade Teacher, Amber Torda, received one of these gift cards. Congratulations, Mrs. Torda! (see photo below)
**All Lost and Found items, including sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles and lunch boxes will be donated on Friday, December 20th!
Wishing you and your families a safe and fun Winter Break.
School resumes on Monday, January 6th.
We'll see you back in the New Year - 2025!
Sail on and enjoy your day!

Principal

PV ANNUAL FUN RUN - FEBRUARY 1ST
STARS STUDENTS
This week's students were nominated by their classroom teachers. They have been doing an excellent job of demonstrating our STARS expectations of being Safe, Trustworthy, Accountable, Respectful or Supportive.
In Mrs. Smith’s Kindergarten, Oakley. Oakley is a rock star! She comes to school ready to learn! She participates, works hard, and is helpful and kind to her classmates! Thank you so much Oakley for being a star at Liberty! Mrs. Smith is so proud of you!
In Ms. Shonteff’s Kindergarten, Jack. Jack is always respectful and following directions! Thank you, Jack, for being a great role model. Keep up the great work!
In Mrs. Watson’s First Grade, Aiden. Aiden is an amazing friend and helper in our class. She consistently helps her classmates when they need help with directions during centers, finding a page in a book, or locating an app on their chromebook. She is kind, caring, and always willing to include others. Way to go Aiden! Keep on shining like the star you are!
In Mrs. Salmans’s Second Grade, Ellie. Ellie is always respectful in our class and on the playground. She helps friends in need, is always on task, and a good friend to everybody. Keep it up Ellie!
In Mrs. Pharr’s Second Grade, AJ. AJ has helped our new student to learn the routines in our classroom. AJ has been working hard in class and putting forth great effort. We are so proud of you, AJ!
In Mrs. Meserve’s Third Grade, Lena. Lena is ALWAYS the first to jump in and help to clean the room, or clean up after snack. She exhibits excellent leadership skills by modeling how to walk in the hallway with a quiet and calm body. She is also such a friendly presence in the classroom by showing up with a positive attitude each day, and ready to do her best work. 402 is lucky to have you, Lena!!!
In Mrs. Torda’ s Fourth Grade, Ruby E. Ruby shows Stars Expectations by being accountable. She always tries her hardest, completes her work, and turns it in on time, even when she is absent. Great job, Ruby, on being accountable. I am proud of you!
In Ms. McHugh’s Fifth Grade, Emilio. It is my pleasure to nominate Emilio as this week's STARS student. He is a quiet and hard working student that chooses to be accountable by completing his work daily to the best of his ability. He is respectful to his teachers and his classmates. Keep up the great work and shine bright, Emilio!
In Mrs. McHugh’s Sixth Grade, Dutch. Dutch is an all around 6th Grade Liberty STARS student. He's always prepared for class, participates, and is ready to learn. Dutch models STARS behavior in the hallways and playground, and he is a good role model for the younger Liberty students. He is kind and supportive of others and always does the right thing. Keep Shining, Dutch!
Congratulations to all our STARS students!
