Dear Families,
A week from today we kick off our annual Pleasant View Fall Food Drive from Monday, November 4th through Friday, November 8th. We will have a school goal of 3000 items -- If we meet our school goal we will have a school wide bingo party! If we can meet a goal of 4000 items, we will have a bingo AND popcorn party! The class that donates the most items will get to help pack and load the food into the vehicles on the afternoon of Friday, November 8th. All items collected are donated to the Faith Church Food Pantry, which is located within the PV community neighborhood.
Other events coming up in the month of November include:
November PTO meeting - Monday, Nov. 11th @6:30pm.
PV Book Fair - Monday, November 11th - Friday, November 15th. The book fair will be open on the night of Nov. 14th conferences from 4:30- 7:30pm.
Parent Teacher Conferences - November 14th and 21st.
No School - November 27th- December 2nd, School Resumes December 3rd.
As we head into November, a reminder that we do go outside each day at lunch time as long as the wind chill is 0 degrees or warmer. Please be sure you are sending your child to school with a hat, gloves, winter coat and all the appropriate attire for spending time outside at recess each day. When we have snow, we expect students to wear boots and snow pants in order to move off the blacktop and play in the snow. Fresh air and movement are an important part of wellness and we want to make sure children are dressed appropriately to enjoy that time outside, even when it is a bit more chilly or snowy!

3-WEEK SABER PRE-SCHOOL BY FHS CHILD II DEVELOPMENT IN DEC
The Franklin High School Child Development II students will be sponsoring “Saber Pre-school” for children ages 3 to 5 on various days in December.
Saber Pre-school is designed for children ages 3 to 5 who are toilet trained and ready to experience a supportive and enriching pre-school environment. The student teachers prepare daily lesson plans that not only provide opportunities for the Little Sabers to develop socially, but also to enhance their kindergarten readiness skills. The Saber Pre-school program offers a truly excellent experience for both our big and small students.
Class time will be from 9:00 to 10:15 am and tuition is $20 to cover the cost of materials and snacks for the entire 3 weeks. Saber Pre-school will include story time, large and small group activities, free time, songs and other fun activities. Pre-registration is required. Registration closes when we hit 25 participants or by Friday, November 15th at the latest. If you know someone who has a child ages 3-5, please help us by sharing this message to them!

FHS FALL PLAY: “ALMOST, MAINE” 11/14-11/17
The FHS Fall Play is fast approaching with shows taking place Thurs 11/14 through Sun 11/17. For tickets and show information, please visit the Saber Center website here.
Show Description: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
K-5TH WINTER/SPRING CHESS EARLY REGISTRATION - BEGINS MID-DECEMBER
