Happy May! We have five more weeks of school and we have so much going on. Santa Susana is a bustling, happy place to be.

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK- This week we celebrate our outstanding staff. A huge thank you to our PTA and our families for their generosity of time in planning the daily events and donations to make our days special!

CAASPP- We continue to test this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students did an amazing job last week. They worked hard and showed a tremendous amount of initiative. Many of our students will also work on Monday, finishing the ELA performance task, as they wanted more time to check their work! Please remember the importance of being at school on time, ready to go.

TALENT SHOW- Don't forget to mark your calendars for May 16th. PTA is very excited to host a talent show at Santa Susana. The show will start at 6:00 PM with a brief association meeting prior.

CALENDAR TYPO- On our "Important Dates" half sheet calendar sent home at the beginning of the year, we found a typo. We do NOT have early out day on Open House Night (May 22nd). We do have early out on Friday, May 23rd. We apologize for the error!

Students in grades 3-5 will be testing on the following dates in the morning. We ask that you plan accordingly when setting up morning appointments and we encourage all students to be on time each and every day!

PTA will host its final Association Meeting on May 16th, just before the Talent Show. This brief meeting will cover financial matters and we will move to pay routine summer bills.

This meeting will only be held in person.

Every year at Santa Susana we use the Core Values program. We discuss a value each month and use this as part of our Student of the Month program. This month our value is INITIATIVE.

Food Pantries

The Samaritan Center has a New Flyer

Still Waters Cafe continues to serve as our local food pantry.

A food pantry is also held in Moorpark at Moorpark College on Tuesdays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.

The school opens for students at 8:00 daily.

We provide breakfast service for any student that wishes to eat from 8:00 AM- 8:20 AM.
