School Board Notes

The Board of School Directors ratified the collective bargaining agreement between the district and the Teamsters for a three year term. This early bird agreement is set to begin July 1, 2025 and expire June 30, 2028 and includes provision for wage increases averaging 2.5% with 1% increase healthcare premium contributions during the term of the agreement. The Teamsters contract covers 43 district employees in positions such as custodian, grounds, and maintenance. The agreement was designed to provide a regionally competitive package to help retain and attract quality staff to support the mission of the school district today and into the future.

In September 2024, the Board authorized FLO Analytics to provide an updated report of student enrollment. The November 19 Work Session of the Board included a presentation by Charles Rynerson of FLO on the enrollment report provided to the Board. The report includes a forecast taking into consideration historical births and kindergarten enrollment, grade progression ratios, and planned residential construction among other data points. In summary, the report outlines that within the 10 year period, district enrollment will remain flat. You can find the report here.

A very special thank you to Wyatt Toland and Nina Becker for representing Eagleville Elementary School as Junior Board Representatives for November 2024. Wyatt led the meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Nina delivered a statement on what makes Eagleville such a great school.

Thank you for your outstanding representation of Eagleville Elementary at our Board Meeting. We are truly honored to have such dedicated young leaders in our community.

Please note: The Reorganization Meeting of the Board will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Methacton High School LGI.

The Methacton School District's Board of School Directors meets each month. School board work session meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month, followed by the regular meeting on the fourth Tuesday (except during the month of December). Regular Board and Work Session meetings typically take place in the Arcola Auditorium, and all residents are invited to attend. Committee meetings take place in the MHS LGI. Meeting agendas are posted to Agenda Manager, and start times and locations are posted on the District's website. Please confirm meeting time and location before attending.
