Welcome Back, Generals!

Generals,

Welcome back to week 3 of digital learning at HMS! I hope you all enjoyed spending time with your families during the week of Spring Break, and you are staying safe. I wanted to take a moment to update you on a few important things as we begin the new week. Students, I also want to commend you for your hard work before the break and to encourage you to keep up with your lessons during these challenging times. Your teachers are available from 8-4 each day if you need them.


  • Please take a moment to watch the video below to see welcome back messages from HMS faculty and staff! We miss you all!


  • As you probably already know, distance learning will continue for the remainder of the school year. All athletic events have been cancelled. We are working on a digital plan for end of the year awards ceremonies and will share that information soon.


  • This Friday is a holiday, but from now until the end of the year, teachers will only be posting assignments Monday- Thursday.


  • Students will be assigned no more than 20-30 minutes of work per class/per day. If your work is taking a lot longer than this, please contact your teacher to let them know.


  • The technology hotline number for HMS is 706-965-1021. Technology specialists are available to take your calls Monday-Friday from 8:00-3:00. They can assist with any issues you are having with a device or login.


  • We are working to get refunds back to you for end of the year field trips (New York, GA Tour, Atlanta, Washington D.C.). This process will take a little time, but we will do our best to have refunds ready as soon as possible.

Click the Clever icon above to link to the CCPS page and then scroll to the bottom to click on Clever.

Students can access IXL, iReady, Reading Plus, USA Test Prep and Gallopade through this login.

Mental Health and Well-Being Resources for Social Distancing

Please look over the following resources for help with keeping your students mentally and emotionally healthy during social distancing as well as tips for how to calm anxious children.


Remember... our counselors are available for you and your child if you need assistance. Students may email counselors or fill out a form in the HMS Counseling Google Classroom.
