Mr. Mayen's Message
Greetings Saints Community!
Welcome to February! As we step into a new month, we continue to embrace our theme, "The Future Looks Bright," and remain committed to "Excel Through Continuous Growth." This month brings several important celebrations and recognitions that highlight the diversity, dedication, and opportunities within our school and beyond.
National School Counselor Week (Feb. 3-7) is a time to appreciate the incredible support our counselors provide to our students. Their guidance helps shape bright futures, and we encourage everyone to take a moment to thank them for their dedication.
February is also Black History Month, an opportunity to honor the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. We encourage our students and staff to engage in conversations, activities, and learning experiences that celebrate the impact of Black leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
Additionally, February is Career Technical Education (CTE) Awareness Month, highlighting the value of career-focused learning. Our CTE programs provide students with hands-on experiences that prepare them for the workforce and future educational opportunities. The CTE department is actively engaged in preparing events and activities showcasing the importance of these pathways.
Recently, many in our community celebrated Lunar New Year, marking the arrival of the Year of the Snake. This is a time of renewal, wisdom, and transformation—qualities that resonate with our goals for the year. May this new year bring prosperity, success, and continued growth for all.
As we continue moving forward, let’s celebrate the richness of our community, support one another, and make the most of the opportunities ahead. Let’s make it a great two weeks!
Important Reminders:
New Check-Out Policy: We kindly ask parents/guardians to check out students before 3:00 PM to minimize disruptions at the end of the school day. Your cooperation helps ensure a smooth and efficient process for all.
Supporting a Positive Game Day Environment: Thank you to our parents, guardians, and community members for your continued support in fostering a respectful and positive environment at our athletic events. Your commitment to sportsmanship and encouragement of our student-athletes helps make San Dimas High School a place where everyone—players, coaches, officials, and spectators—feels safe and valued. In the coming months we will be posting our expectations to enhance our announcement and remind ALL spectators that Saints Value Everyone while on our campus.
ELPAC Testing Begins: We will kick off ELPAC testing on Monday, February 3rd. This assessment is essential in measuring English language proficiency and supporting our multilingual learners. Please encourage students to be well-rested and prepared for success!
ICA Math Test – February 12th: Juniors will be taking the ICA Math test on Wednesday, February 12th, starting at 8:30 AM. This assessment is crucial in preparing for upcoming state testing and measuring progress. Please ensure students arrive on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best!
