Did you know that Ridgecrest Elementary School has a FACEBOOK page? Ridgecrest Elementary School. You will find lots of information on our site. Check us out!

On Tuesday, November 12th at 6:00pm, we will host a Discovery Night for prospective families interested in joining our magnet school family. For families attending Ridgecrest, our SEM Showcase, is also scheduled on November 12th, beginning at 6:30pm. Come and see what the students have been up to!

We look forward to seeing you on campus for GREAT AMERICAN TEACH-IN on November 13th. If you haven't signed up to participate and would like to, it's not too late! Email Barronca@pcsb.org, to get on the schedule.

Parents, our morning arrival begins at 8:15am with the final bell ringing at 8:45am. School promptly begins at 8:45am at which time, each child should be in his or her seat, ready for the day. Arriving at 8:45am is arriving late and missing valuable learning time. If there is a barrier in which hinders your timely arrival, please reach out to our office to support getting your child here on time daily.

Continuing this month, is our celebration of Family Literacy. This aligns with our One School - One Book initiative "The One and Only Ivan," which we hope you all are enjoying. There are some activities in this edition of the newsletter that will help your child be able to discuss and learn from the book.

Our Canned Food Drive ends this FRIDAY. We are collecting NON-Perishable food items to help our neighbors in need. A list of needed items can be found further on in the newsletter. Please help if you can.

Please join your child for a Thanksgiving lunch November 20th during their lunch time. Please RSVP to minardbr@pcsb.org by, Monday, November 18th so we are sure to have enough. The cost is $7.00 per adult, CASH or CHECK ONLY the day of the event.

Purchase Texas Roadhouse gift cards for friends and family and help your child's school earn extra cash! Between now and November 15th, 10% of all gift card sales comes back to Ridgecrest Elementary to help supplement activities for our kids.

Since the Fall Festival was cancelled earlier this year, due to the hurricanes, PTA has decided to host a WINTERFEST! Please join us in the fun!

Parents must complete the online application and return 1 teacher recommendation form from a current ELA or math teacher by January 17th. We will review all applications by the end of January and send out acceptance letters and waitlist letters in February. We had a lengthy waitlist last year and we are only taking 75 students for 6th grade next year, so spots will fill up quickly.

Our annual Experience PCS event is coming up on December 7th from 10am-2pm at Clearwater High School. We will be holding a Chess Tournament and invite any interested students to sign up. The tournament will begin at 10:30am. Please see the attached flyer with a QR code below to sign up.
