Superintendent's Message
I hope this message finds you well. I am thrilled to share that we have had an exceptional start to the school year! From our enthusiastic students to our dedicated staff and supportive families, the energy and positivity throughout the district have been truly inspiring.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this successful beginning. Parents, thank you for preparing your children so well for the new school year and for your ongoing partnership. Teachers and staff, your hard work and passion make all the difference, and I am proud to lead such an incredible team.
As we continue this journey together, I am confident that we will accomplish great things this year. Let’s keep the momentum going and make this school year one of the best yet!
Thank you again for all that you do to support our students and schools. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Dickerson
Regular School Board Meeting - Aug. 12th at 7:00 PM in Jr./Sr. High Media Center
Blood Drive Mon., Aug. 12th hosted by the Boys' Basketball Team
Late-Start Wednesdays begins August 14th
Late-Start Wednesdays were approved for the 2024-2025 school year. Each Wednesday busses will run 30 minutes later and the tardy bell will ring at 8:30. Car riders can still drop off their students at 7:35 on Wednesdays. As a reminder, Blue River Valley Schools goes over the minimum amount of instructional minutes as required by the state each day. This time is valuable to our staff and we appreciate your support.
New Waiver Days
The 2024-2025 school calendar was approved earlier this year. We applied to IDOE for waiver days to provide Professional Development to our staff. Five days were approved and are shown on the updated calendar below. On those days, students will NOT come to school and will NOT have e-learning to complete. In addition, we have eliminated our PM e-learning days.
Athletic News
Fall Sports for Junior High, JV, and Varsity are underway!
The first home athletic event is Saturday, August 17th with the Early Bird Cross Country Invite. The Junior High race starts at 9:00 and the JV/Varsity starts at 10:00. Come support our Vikings!
Tennis Court Update
Our tennis teams are able to use the new tennis courts. While at the fair, it was so nice to hear all of the compliments about the courts. The courts may look complete, but the surrunding area is not finished yet.
Please do not drive on the gravel especially near the fences yet as concrete is getting ready to be poured. We have bleachers that will be set up and an outdoor shed being built as well.
We wanted to have a ribbon cutting on August 17th; however, we are going to postpone that event until September. We will share more information soon!
Construction News
Construction trailers arrive this week!
Construction in both buildings will start happening soon. While this is an exciting time for our students, staff, and community, we know it will also cause some challenges along the way. As we have already discussed the bond items have already been approved and the bids have been awarded. I will do my best to share updates as the year continues. Demo begins September 3rd.
