Greeting Crescentwood Families,
It looks like spring has finally sprung!! Our days have gotten longer and our weather is getting warmer. I hope everyone is making time to have lots of family time. Our students need to get outside as much as possible so that they can run, play, and get lots of fresh air.
Thank you so much for supporting our students. Our attendance is increasing and we are starting to have more activities planned. Attendance and behavior will play a major role in field trip participation, so let's make sure we are present and well behaved.
We are doing so many great things here at Crescentwood and we would not be able to do it without your support. Thank you again for being amazing families. Have an amazing month!!

Title 1 Right To Know
Crescentwood Elementary is a school-wide Title 1 school. This means we receive money from the federal government for academic support for our students. The purpose of the Title 1 program is to increase student achievement by providing additional and timely instruction to help students achieve success in the regular education program. Note that Title 1 services are provided in addition to the regular instruction our students receive in the classroom. These include:
- Out of classroom support or "pull out"
- Title 1 family activities
- Title 1 extended year
- Summer slide library program
- Paraprofessional support
- March is Reading Month program student incentives
Medication Safety/Traffic Safety
Medication Safety
Please remember that students are not allowed to bring any medication to school, including over-the-counter items like Tylenol or antacids. To ensure the safety of all of our students, all medications must be kept in the office with a completed authorization form. Students should not be carrying these items in their backpacks, and at home, they should be kept where students cannot access them without an adult.
At home, please remember to also securely store any controlled substances, such as marijuana edibles, where they cannot be accessed by your child. These items may look like candy or other treats and pose a risk of accidental ingestion by children, who may want to share their "candy" with other students. The consequences of bringing these items to school by mistake can be serious. Please help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all of our children!
Traffic Safety
Regardless of how your child gets to and from school, please remind them of basic traffic safety rules. Remind students to use crosswalks and sidewalks, look both ways before crossing the street, and, for younger children, wait for an adult to help them cross. Please remember to follow all designated drop-off and pick-up zones, and be extra aware of where students may be walking or crossing a street.
If your child rides the bus, we ask that you review bus stop safety protocols with them regularly. For parents dropping off students at bus stops, please ensure that you park in designated areas and allow ample time for your child to safely board the bus.
Your cooperation in following traffic flow patterns and respecting designated areas helps keep everyone safe and ensures timely arrivals and departures.
