THIS WEEK AT THS
Spirit Week and Homecoming Dance
It was a fun Spirit Week at THS as students and staff dressed up on themed days such as Matching Monday, Jersey Day, Crocs, Socks & Birkenstocks, Class Colors and Tiller gear. ASB also put on fun lunch time activities including chalk drawing, DIY slime, giant cup pong, lotería, and birthday celebrations! Check out ASB's Spirit Week highlight reel!
An Evening in Paris was definitely an evening to remember for students at Friday night's Homecoming Dance! Students enjoyed burgers from The Habit food truck, took fun photos and videos on traditional and 360° photo booths, and danced the night away! Catch more photos and videos on our Instagram Reel and Homecoming Photo Folder!
Tillers Tour Irvine Valley College
On Friday, THS students and parents visited Irvine Valley College for a campus tour and presentation, followed by a pizza lunch provided by IVC. During the tour, Tillers learned about IVC's majors, programs, and the many resources available to students! This was the first of several college tours that Tillers can join this year, and part of our work as a community school. Many thanks to the Tustin Public Schools Foundation for providing an enrichment grant that covered our bus fees! Click HERE to check out our IVC Instagram Reel! Our next field trip will be to Chapman University on 10/25 from 9-1. Spots are limited so, sign up now!
Soroptimist Young Woman of Achievement
Recently, the Tustin/Santa Ana Soroptimist celebrated scholars from TUSD high schools for their outstanding academic achievement, outstanding character and impact on their campus and community. Congratulations to September's Young Woman of Achievement, Sabrina Yost! We are grateful for community partners like the Tustin/Santa Ana Soroptimists for their continued support and celebration of our students, staff and programs.
Enrichment Opportunities during CCR
On Late Start Wednesdays, students participate in an advisory period called CCR, or College & Career Readiness. CCR provides time for students to check grades, catch up assignments, learn about school events and participate in lessons about career and college readiness. This week, Seniors participated in a special assembly to learn about this year's events from Senior Class Advisors, Mr. Miguel and Mrs. Sarah Hughes, while Juniors heard from a guest speaker.
Our physics students have been studying bridge design with the intention of designing, building and testing a bridge that will survive rush hour traffic and an earthquake. This week during CCR, they heard from guest speaker, Mr. Wellington Chu of HDR Engineering, to connect classroom learning with real life application. Thank you to our Physics teachers for coordinating this opportunity!
Mr. Miguel and Mrs. Sarah Hughes played games and shared important senior year info with the Class of 2025.

Last week's Parenting Teens Together workshop was about Cyber Safety. Participants learned about ways to keep teens safe on social media use, how to talk to teens about this topic and other tips and tools!
