Welcome to a special summer edition of the Valley View!
Beginning in September, our families will receive their Valley View weekly newsletters on Fridays at 2:00 pm delivered to your email inboxes. These newsletters always contain important information about the 'happenings' around school so be sure to take some time weekly to keep yourself current. When in doubt...check your newsletter. Save The Dates
Explore and Tour: On Monday, August 26th, fourth grade students and new students are welcome to tour the building with a family member anytime between 9:00-10:00 AM.
First Day of School: Thursday, September 5, 2024. Click HERE for the full day schedule. Students are expected to be in their desks for homeroom by 8:00 AM.
Open House Back to School Night
- Monday, September 16th: Fourth and Fifth Grade
- Tuesday, September 17th: Sixth Grade
6th Grade Required Immunizations
Dear Families/Guardians of the Class of 2025,
This letter is to inform you that the New Jersey Department of Health and Human
Services, per NJAC 8:57-4, requires the following vaccinations for students turning 11
years of age and/or entering sixth grade:
One dose of a meningococcal-containing vaccine (MCV) AND
One dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis)
● If proof of vaccination is not received by October 10, 2024, your child will be excluded
from attending school as of October 11, 2024.
● If your child is not able to receive the vaccine until after the exclusion date, please
provide an appointment card (or copy) from your child’s physician documenting the
date and time of their upcoming appointment.
● If you have a religious or medical exemption on file in the health office, please call us.
It is likely the exemption letter will need to be updated.
Documentation of these immunizations must be submitted to the school nurse. Please
contact your child’s healthcare provider to schedule this appointment as soon as possible.

General Supply List
Harrison Township School District provides all the supplies that learners will need in the classroom. It is recommended that each learner brings a labeled backpack, lunchbox, refillable water bottle, and coat to school.
Check out the website HERE for other suggestions regarding supplies.
Lunch Details
- Cost: Student Lunch Price is $3.25 for the 2024-2025bschool year.
- ID Numbers: All students utilize their student identification number to purchase lunch. Don't worry! Teachers and our cafeteria staff have your little ones' number readily on hand. There are many happy faces available to help your child with the routine and simple procedures.
- Microwaves: Microwaves are not available to heat up your child's lunch. Please utilize an appropriate insulated thermos if packing items that need to stay warm.
- Refrigerators: Refrigerators are not available to keep every child's lunch cold. Please utilize an ice pack if packing items that need to stay cool.
- Food Delivery: Lunch deliveries from local restaurants and/or fast food restaurants for an individual student's daily lunch are not permitted for this school year. We make sure all of our Explorers have lunch and full bellies to tackle their afternoon.
