PRAYER
Lord,
Let everything I do this day and in this season of Lent come from you,
be inspired by you.
I long to be closer to you.
Help me to remember that nothing is important in my life unless it glorifies you in some way.
It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day of my life and keep saying,
"Tomorrow, I will spend more time in prayer,"
but now my longing meets your love and I want to do it now.
Help me to rely on you for help.
The prayer asks you that I reach perfection.
Please, Lord, remind me that "perfection" isn't the crazy,
"successful" way I try to live my life,
but a perfection of my most authentic, real self.
My "perfection" might be holding my many flaws in my open hands,
asking you to help me accept them.
Heal me, Lord, and help me to find you in the darkness of my life.
Let me reach out in this darkness and feel your hand and love there to guide me.
Amen

Our Lenten Journey Has Begun
With Ash Wednesday this past week, we began the season of Lent, one of the liturgical seasons in the church calendar. For parents who would like to learn more about what Lent means to Catholics, here is some information from the Catholic bishops. One common practice during Lent is to think of something you can give up during the 40 days of Lent to prepare your heart for the coming of Easter. You can also go here for a list of more activities that you could do as a family during Lent.
Happy Lenten Season! What a strange greeting to give. It sounds like an oxymoron. How can one be happy during Lent? Isn't this the time of the liturgical year where we are expected to live like martyrs and give up everything that makes us happy? Not exactly. If you are like some people, your New Year's Resolution lasts about two weeks. But, when it comes to Lent there are different motivations for making changes in your life. First of all, the term "Lent" gets its original meaning from an Old English secular word "lencten" which means the lengthening of days or "springtime". When I think of springtime, I think of spring cleaning, starting out fresh, and new life. Lent is time to declutter the items in life that take attention away from God. Lent is the time to reorganize priorities. Lent is the time to clean our heart of sin, so that you can truly feel God's presence in your life. When you empty your lives of the things that don't matter, you have much more space for God to move in. That thought makes me happy.
With Lent being here we have a chance to slow down and reflect on all that God has done for us.
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden
Tuition/Registration Materials
Did you know that among the top reasons new families come to visit us and enroll in Catholic Schools is that current or past parents share the good news about Catholic Education with them? Tell all your friends and relatives about the high quality of care and education your children receive at Holy Trinity School. Thank you for all that you do to encourage more families to enroll. You can make a difference for these families! You are great!
Don't forget about our Tuition Incentive - Family Referral: Refer a family that registers and enrolls at HTS for the 2022-2023 school year and receive $500 off your tuition bill! Discount is for one year, one per family.
If you are interested, or know of someone who might be interested, we are looking for someone to run an after-school program for 3 and 4 year olds. Contact the school office if you are interested.

Each child should fill out the questions on their own. Thank you to The Catholic Community Foundation! Visit legaciesoffaith.org to learn more about The Catholic Community Foundation. See the attached letter that will be in the home folder as well. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Longden.
