Narwhal Newsletter
June 1st, 2025
Hello Marsh Creek,
I hope that you are having a great weekend. This will be our last newsletter of the year, and this week marks the end of the fourth marking period, and the last week of our students' time here at Marsh Creek. Our last student day is Thursday June 5th, which will be a modified day from 9:00 am- 11:35 am. This week, our students will get to celebrate the end of the year together by participating in Field Day, and our last few teams will get to attend their Shamona Creek Park Picnic. Please take a look at the section below entitled This Week at Marsh Creek for all important upcoming dates.
As we bring the school year to a close, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for allowing us the privilege of supporting your students and families throughout this memorable year. It has truly been a joy to watch your children learn, and grow here at Marsh Creek.
This is a special group of students—filled with curiosity, kindness, resilience, and potential—and we feel honored to have been a part of their journey. We are so excited to watch them continue to grow and accomplish great things in the years ahead. They have left a lasting impression on our school, and we will always remember the spirit, energy, and heart they brought to our community. For those families with younger siblings still in our elementary schools, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. And to all of our other families, thank you for allowing us to play a small part in your child’s life. Your support and partnership have meant so much to us, and it has been a cornerstone of this year’s success. I wish you all a restful, safe, and joyful summer—and all the very best in the years ahead.
Thank you for all of your time and support. It has truly been a joy and an honor to work with you this school year. I hope that everyone has an amazing summer!
-Matt

I just wanted to remind our friends and families that, with the exception of our few students that live in the neighborhoods adjacent to Marsh Creek, all other students will need to take their school bus home, or be picked up by a parent. I appreciate everyone's understanding and support, as this is to ensure our kids safety, and to make sure everyone arrives home ready for an awesome summer. I am looking forward to seeing the kids return to Marsh Creek on Monday!

2025 Yearbook Sale
The yearbooks have arrived! While most books were purchased online, we still have a limited number of yearbooks available for purchase. Each Advisory teacher has a list of students who previously purchased a yearbook during the online sales campaign (October 2024-March 2025). Parents, if you are uncertain as to whether you did or didn't make the online purchase, please direct your child to check with his/her Advisory teacher. If their name is on the list according to the information you provided during your online purchase, they're all set.
In-person sales will begin on Monday, May 12th at 8:30 am in the library. Interested students should bring either $30 cash or a check made payable to Marsh Creek 6th Grade Center. We will hold the sale all week until the books are sold out.
We will distribute the yearbooks to students as part of our Field Day activities on Friday, May 30th. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Allen lallen@dasd.org or Mrs. Leister rleister@dasd.org.

Middle Level Fundraiser
The Lighting the Way fund is the ongoing student activities and positive behavior support fundraising initiative for the Downingtown Area School District Middle Level Schools: Downingtown Middle School, Lionville Middle School, and Marsh Creek 6th Grade Center.
Rooted in the belief that every child deserves the chance to grow every day into a kind, empathetic, and resilient leader, this fund supports academic, social, emotional, and civic learning through school-wide events, programs, and resources.
Whether it’s a Lancer, Lion, or Narwhal, each student benefits from the shared goal of building responsibility, encouraging respect, and inspiring resourcefulness across all three schools.
Your support helps us light the way forward—together.
