Note from the Admin Team
Dear Caregivers,
As we come to the close of this academic year, we are filled with gratitude and pride in what we have achieved together as a school community. With both of us being new to HMS, we reflect on the journey, the milestones, and the growth we've witnessed in our students. We could not have asked for a better group of students, families, and staff to undertake this journey with.
First and foremost, we want to extend our appreciation to each and every one of you for your unwavering support, dedication, and partnership throughout this year. Your involvement in your child's education is the cornerstone of their success, and for that, we are grateful.
As educators, one of the greatest joys we experience is witnessing the incredible progress our students make, both academically and emotionally. We are thrilled to share that this year has been no exception. Across all grade levels, we have seen remarkable strides in academic achievement. Throughout the building students have mastered new concepts and embraced the challenges of learning with enthusiasm and determination.
Equally inspiring has been the growth we've observed in the social and emotional well-being of our students. Our students have developed essential life skills such as empathy, resilience, and self-awareness. We have loved watching our students evolve into compassionate, confident individuals who are equipped to face the future. None of this would have been possible without your support, encouragement, and trust in our collective mission to nurture and empower our young learners.
As another school year draws to a close, let us carry forward the lessons learned, the friendships formed, and the memories cherished. Once again, thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating and shaping the minds of your precious children. Your partnership is truly invaluable, and together, we will continue to inspire excellence and foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime. We send you wishes of a relaxing, healthy, and peaceful summer.
With deepest appreciation,
Kristen Fitzsimons, Principal
Kim Tait, Assistant Principal

Teacher and Classroom Requests for 2024-2025 School Year
Dear caregivers,
Many caregivers contact me regarding preferences for their child’s classroom assignment for the upcoming school year. Much professional thought and effort is put into placing your child into next year’s classes. A variety of factors are considered (social, emotional, behavioral and academic) as your child is placed. If you have any additional information regarding your child’s needs in these areas, please share it with me in writing. This important task contributes significantly to the creation of a positive class environment that enables students to reach their potential. I will keep your request on file, and the academic team will certainly consider it, but cannot give any guarantees to a specific teacher or classroom. Unfortunately, we cannot accept requests for particular classroom/teacher placements. Luckily, our students have shown remarkable growth this year, which is evidence that we have an outstanding teaching staff here at Hazardville Memorial School.
You will receive a letter over summer break with information about your child’s teacher and room number.
Thank you in advance for your understanding of our professional processes.
Respectfully,
Miss Fitzsimons
