Summer Updates from Clark
Info to know
Our school wide theme for this year is "Growing Together: Cultivating knowledge, kindness, and community." Seems appropriate as we grow in many ways entering year 21. We all look forward to exciting things ahead!
Health Forms (for returning students) were mailed with the reminder letter for the orientation/ updates session. Make sure you get those back to us ASAP so you'll be able to proceed with your course schedule, getting new ID, laptop, etc. Nothing will be given out until your paperwork is returned. More paperwork will be provided at orientation on Wednesday, August 7 at 5:30 pm.
**Newly enrolling students would've completed with their enrollment packet**
Sibling coming to Clark? If so, a parent only needs to attend 1 of the orientation sessions, however, the new student needs to attend the Thursday, August 8 session as there will be information shared that pertains to new students that will not be covered in the returner session.
Summer A books should be returned to the front office now. All summer books must be returned before getting fall books or the new laptop.
Have you moved recently and forgot to tell us? Make sure to send new proof of residency/ address to kfarias1@irsc.edu We need all student records to be accurate and have been getting mailings bouncing back from several students who did not report an address change.
Clark will conduct teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) training for students entering 10th – 12th beginning on July 16, 2024. This is an evidence-based training that teaches teens in grades 10-12, or ages 15- 18, how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in their friends and peers. The training gives teens the skills they need to have supportive conversations with their friends and emphasizes the importance of getting help from a responsible and trusted adult. Look for an email soon to sign up.
Debate sponsorships available: contact Ms. H ahutches@irsc.edu Lots of traveling due to such a strong group of students. Let's help recoup last year's expenses and set the up for success this year.
Student and Adult Volunteers needed for the front desk. Email swhelpley@irsc.edu of you can give any time starting in August. Returning volunteers- there will be a required training session, so stay tuned for the date and time options.
Our new access management system is now active. This means, your ID card is REQUIRED to enter the building, as well as the office, knowledge room, dome, and classrooms. Every student will be given a new ID card at orientation. You will need to have it with you and on you each and every day. A replacement is $10 and after 1 time "forgetting" it, you will be charged the $10 as well as possible consequences in accordance with the code of conduct.
Students United is accepting applications for their upcoming group. This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about non-profits in our community. unitedwaymartin.org/StudentsUnited
More than just a meal- Meal Application Update: Meal Applications for the 2024-2025 SY will be available July 10, 2024 on MySchoolApps.com. There are other benefits when students apply and qualify for free and/or reduced lunches. This can include SAT/ACT test waivers, college application waivers, and additional funding opportunities for the school. If you don't apply, you won't know if you qualify!
NEW COURSE OFFERINGS FOR FALL
I am very excited to share with you three career clock hour dual enrollment programs have been approved to be offered at the IRSC Chastain Campus for the 2024-2025 school year. These three programs are

Also, a HS Chem Honors and DE Chem has been added. They will also be available this spring, but if interested in adding to your schedule, email Ms. Stastny.
