News & Events at Freedom MS - Week of February 25th, 2023
Welcome / Bienvenidos
Freedom Families,
Over the course of this brisk yet eventful weekend, both teachers and students found themselves immersed in various activities. On Tuesday, our educators delved into an enlightening session on the science of reading, a crucial preparatory step for the forthcoming implementation of our new English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum. The selected curriculum, Amplify, will soon become the cornerstone of instruction across all ELA classrooms.
Wednesday brought a visit from a representative of our math curriculum, Desmos, accompanied by district coaches, who observed classroom dynamics firsthand. Witnessing students engaging in mathematical conversations in both English and Spanish was particularly invigorating, aligning perfectly with FMS's objective of enhancing math-related conversations.
Meanwhile, the spirit of fun permeated the school as students and teachers alike embraced Wacky Wednesday by bringing along their cherished stuffed companions. Furthermore, a collective effort was made through a $1 dress down day, aimed at fundraising for the upcoming school dance. The Student Council intends to enrich the dance experience by renting a photo booth for student enjoyment and lasting memories.
Have a great week!
