Principal's Message
Staying informed about school activities, PTA events, and other important updates is an essential component to your child's success. Our newly updated school website is the best place to find the latest information on upcoming events, school announcements, and ways to get involved in our wonderful community.
From school-wide events to PTA meetings and volunteer opportunities, there's always something happening, and we don't want you to miss a thing! Please take a few minutes to regularly visit our website so you can stay up-to-date on everything we have planned.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making this school year a success for all our students!
Halloween Parade
Our Cougars will be parading around campus in their Halloween costumes on Thursday, October 31st beginning at 8:45 a.m. A staging area for parents will be set up on the blacktop and the students will parade by the parents. Please enter through the parking lot or Murdell gate. Each teacher will be holding a class sign making it easier for you to find your child in the procession.
- Masks must be school friendly (allowed only during the parade, not in class)
- No weapons or replica weapons
- No blood or gore
- Must meet dress code guidelines
It is not our intent to complicate or interfere with creativity, but we must assure safety and a positive learning environment for the day. Thank you for your cooperation!
Class Parties
As we look forward to the fun and celebrations that come with classroom parties, I wanted to remind everyone about an important policy regarding food items. Before bringing in any food for class parties or special occasions, please make sure to first check with your child’s classroom teacher.
Our District follows specific nutritional guidelines, and we also need to be mindful of any food allergies or dietary restrictions within each classroom. The teacher will guide you on what is appropriate to bring to ensure that we are maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our students.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Together, we can make every celebration both fun and safe!
Cougar Chase
Based on our PledgeStar totals the Cougar Chase brought in $53,492. Stay tuned for an update and outstanding pledges have not been received yet. Student prizes will be distributed next week.
Congratulations to Mrs. Capes and her students for being the top raising class!

Fall Carnival Recap
The Fall Carnival brought in $15,200! As you know, this money goes directly to the classrroms. Money received for food purchases will help offset Camp Campbell costs. Thank you for supporting our students!
School Site Council
Committee members are elected by the school community and serve a two year term. Please vote by October 23rd.
Independent Study
We understand that family vacations and time away from school can sometimes be unavoidable. While we recognize the value of these experiences, we also want to stress that independent study, though a helpful alternative, will never fully replace the in-depth learning, social interaction, and hands-on experiences that take place within the classroom.
Our teachers work hard to provide enriching activities and assignments for students who are unable to attend, but these cannot replicate the collaborative environment and daily engagement that are central to classroom learning. However, we are committed to supporting your child in staying connected to their academic progress during their time away and will provide the necessary resources to help bridge the gap.
We encourage you to schedule vacations during school breaks whenever possible and to consider how time away might impact your child’s learning.
In order to receive approval for an Independent Study Agreement (ISA) the following four criteria must be met:
- The ISA is not during the first or last 10 days of instruction for the school year.
- The ISA is for a time period no more than 15 days.
- The ISA does not exceed 15 days of short term ISA study for the student for this school year.
- The ISA was signed and submitted to the school office at least 10 instructional days before the requested start date.
Universal Lunch & Breakfast
Breakfast will be served in the MPR from 8:00 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. Supervision is provided. Students will enter campus through the parking lot gate and proceed directly to the MPR.
All students have the option to eat a school lunch complete with entree, fruit or vegetable, and a milk. Students may purchase additional meals if they choose. Visit the Child Nutrition Services page for more information.
