We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Don Somerset has been selected as the Secaucus Middle School April Staff Member of the Month. Mr. Somerset exemplifies the spirit of teamwork, dedication, and compassion that makes our school community thrive.

Mr. Somerset is someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it's guiding a struggling student or collaborating with colleagues on a project, Mr. Somerset consistently demonstrates a commitment to the well-being and success of our school. Students know that they can rely on Mr. Somerset for guidance and encouragement.

Mr. Somerset please know that your dedication, kindness, and support do not go unnoticed. Congratulations to Mr. Somerset on being named the April Staff Member of the Month.

It is my honor to announce that Melanie Huang has been selected as our April Secaucus Middle School Patriot of the Month. Melanie is someone who embodies the spirit of kindness, positivity, and warmth. Her infectious smile has the remarkable ability to brighten the day of anyone she encounters.

The SMS Environmental Club participated in the town wide Arbor Day event with the assistance of the DPW by planting ten trees along the SMS/SHS campus and cleaning up the SMS butterfly garden outside of the science classrooms.

What an incredible trip to The College of New Jersey last week with our Technology Student Association! We are happy to announce that our middle schoolers brought home medals in multiple categories in the statewide STEM competition!

Marking period 4 Progress Reports will be open to view on the Parent Portal beginning May 13th. Parents and students are encouraged to review their progress together and to contact our school counseling department with questions or concerns.

The SMS Class of 2025 is hosting a Spring/Summer Apparel Fundraiser until May 17, 2025. Items include an SMS Class of 2025 t-shirt design. There are also 2 short options with just the SMS Logo, so they make a great option for students in all grades! Shorts are approved uniform options from May 1st through October 31st. Items will arrive at school in early June, or can be shipped directly to your home for an additional cost.

• District Calendar Update: At the May 9th, Board of Education meeting there was a revision to the District calendar to reflect the district closed on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 to account for the unused inclement weather day. See attached calendar.
