Title I Parent Involvement Survey Results
Each fall, Southside invites parents to participate in a Title I Parent Involvement Survey. This helps us to know what our parents and families would like to know more about regarding academic and social emotional learning at Southside. It allows us to share parent invovlement opportunities available and provides us with the information we need to connect parents and families to their involvement interests. We are also able to receive feedback regarding how parents wish to receive information from the school.
This school year, 158 Title I Parent Involvement Surveys were returned to school. Results indicated that 35 parents were interested in volunteering from home, 15 would like to participate in the PTO, and 7 would like to be a part of our Character & CKH Process Champions Team. Additionally, 9 parents expressed interest in volunteering in the library, 8 shared they would like to assist with music programs, and 11 are willing to help out in the copy room. Parents and families also shared that they would like to receive information from the school mainly through notes sent home. Other highly prefered methods included messaging Apps such as Remind, Dojo, or SeeSaw and receiving information via email.
While parents and families expressed interest in learning more about all topics on the survey, the topics with the highest results were learning about ways to help their child become a better reader, learning about ways to help with homework, and learning more about how math is being taught. Click on the buttons below to access short, information videos about these topics. More information on these topics will be included in future parent newsletters.
At Southside Elementary, we are dedicated to providing a quality education for all students and believe that parental involvement provides an essential foundation of success for children. We look forward to our continued partnership with the parents and families of our school community!
