From the Plank South Leadership Team
Plank South Families,
Two major events to be aware of this week!
1) Workshop on Parenting in the Digital Age. TONIGHT, Tuesday, 2/5 @ 6:30pm at Willink Middle School.
It’s not hard to find reasons to worry about how media and technology are impacting kids. How can we move beyond alarmist headlines to understand how it’s really affecting our kids? And more importantly, what we can do about it?
Webster CSD is proud to host national speaker Steve Garton, of Common Sense Media, on Tuesday, February 5, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Willink Middle School. Parents are invited to join in learning about:
how kids and teens are using media and technology to create, consume, communicate, and learn
the impact of media and technology on kids’ health and development how to guide kids in making safe and respectful digital choices
how to better understand, engage, and communicate with kids about their use of media and technology
what Webster CSD is doing to promote safe and effective use of technology.
For additional information on tomorrow evening's event, please visit the district's website or the flyer below.
2) Webster's 40th Annual Science Fair is coming!!! Entry forms are due next Monday. This is for students of all ages and is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn, create, and think like scientists!!! Information and sign-ups right below!
Have a great week!

40th Annual Plank South Science Fair!!!
We are pleased to announce that the 40th Annual Plank Road South Science Fair will be held on Wednesday March 20th, 2019.
The purpose of the Science Fair is to promote interest in science related topics. The Science Fair provides the opportunity for all students to have fun while learning a scientific principle. The real reward is the knowledge gained, and in that respect, all students are winners.
All entry forms must be turned in by Monday February 11, 2019. Titles to projects and parent/guardian e-mail addresses must be included on the entry form to be accepted. Late entries cannot be accepted, as planning and procurement are crucial to the Science Fair’s success.
