A Note From the Principal
We've almost finished our first full week of school, and I'm happy to say we've had a smooth and successful start! The third graders are becoming leaders in the building, the second graders are stepping up, and the first graders are doing a great job learning all the new routines and expectations.
The response to recess before lunch has been excellent so far. Students are quieter at lunch, eating more of their food, and going back to class ready to jump back into learning. We've also had good luck with buses and the drop off/pick up line running smoothly, and we really appreciate your cooperation and patience with the new security vestibule and student check in/out procedures. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. We look forward to seeing you at Open House tonight (Thursday 8/22) at 6pm (or at the time communicated by your child's teacher)!
PS - If you're on X/Twitter, feel free to follow me @mprezios to see pictures and videos from school!
Thank you,
Mat Prezioso
Principal, Munson Elementary
Mr. Prez's Pic of the Week
The whole school enjoyed an awesome assembly with Jim "Basketball" Jones on Tuesday! Check out our skills! 🏀 Mr. Jones also talked to us about kindness and building a supportive community in our school. We're so happy he was able to visit Munson!

Please Complete Your Annual Update!
The Annual Update must be completed by ALL Chardon Local Schools households every year, for every student, even if there are no changes. This ensures that we have the most accurate information for your student and household. This helps us to contact you promptly in case of an emergency, allows you to pay for student meals and school fees online, and gives you access to important forms and documents, including report cards. We need your updated information as soon as possible! Find Annual Update instructions HERE.
The first class to complete 100% of their Annual Updates will win a special treat for the entire class! Stay tuned to see who's in the lead!
