Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
Thank you for your partnership in another great week at Erie High School. It was great to see so many families out at Parent Teacher Conferences this week. Your partnership with teachers and staff is vital in support of your child(ren) - thank you for your steadfast commitment to your child’s success in our school.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this week’s video principal’s update.
I am excited to share that Erie High School was recently honored as an AP Honor Roll School by the College Board. EHS earned this honor due to the number of students enrolled in at least one AP class, the number of students that earned a score of 3 or higher on 1 or more AP exam, and the number of students that successfully completed 5 or more AP courses during their Erie tenure. This recognition is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as the strong support we receive from parents, guardians, and families in our school community.
Congratulations are in order to our performing arts students. The EHS Theatre program had a very successful three-night run of Our Town last weekend, and the fall concerts have been great for all of our ensembles. On Wednesday night, I had the pleasure of attending the SVVSD Band Night at Everly-Montgomery Stadium. It was awesome to see the Erie High School Unified Percussion and Marching Band perform.
Our fall sports season continues to bring great achievements for the Erie Tigers. On Tuesday, the Erie High School boys golf team placed 6th at the CHSAA 5A state golf tournament, just ten strokes behind the state champions from Cherry Creek High School. The boys performed very well, and I enjoyed the opportunity I had to watch them play on Monday for Day #1 of the tournament. As we continue through the conclusion of the regular season for our fall sports teams, I am looking forward to the postseason opportunities that lay ahead!
I hope that you and your family enjoy an outstanding four-day weekend. This is an important opportunity for students, staff, and families to rest and recharge as we approach the 2nd half of our first semester. Thank you for your continued support of our great school!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
