Living the Twelve Steps
Tracey Catino
Growing up, Tracey Catino was surrounded by alcoholics and other kinds of addicts. She spent over twenty-five years in Al-Anon, recovering from the effects of addiction in her family members. Tracey will share her experience, strength and hope through the lens of the 12 steps of recovery.
Bio: Tracey Catino has been a member of UUCSJS for over 13 years. She grew up in Philadelphia in a working class Irish Catholic neighborhood in the 1970’s where there was a church on every other corner and a bar across the street. She went to college in Lancaster, PA, where she became a single mother of her son, Nick. Tracey moved to south Jersey to be close to family while she raised her son. Tracey has been a high school English teacher for over twenty years and a principal for five years. She currently lives in Linwood with her husband, Bill, and daughter, Kassidy.
PLEASE NOTE: This service will be in person at UUCSJS and streamed live on our Facebook page. A recording will be available later in the day on our YouTube Channel.
*Masks are currently optional at UUCSJS.

Keeping the Work of De-Centering at the Center
Reading is never enough, but it is part of helping white people get clearer about the work that must be done. Make some time this month to continue the on-going work of keeping de-centering work at the center by engaging this essay by Bayo Akomolafe.

Soup Sale Returns!
Soup sale will be returning Sunday, January 29th.
It has been a while since we have had this fund raising event and this time proceeds will benefit our own UUCSJS !!!!!!!!
We need your help.
We need you to make your delicious homemade soup, and using the containers provided by the front entrance, to fill and return by January 29th. Soup can be frozen.
Soup will be for sale before and after service on the 29th. If making soup is not for you, we welcome bread or other baked goods to add to the sale. This has been a fun way to share our culinary skills in the past and hopefully will be again.

Welcoming Newcomers to the UUCSJS
On Sunday, Feb 12, following the service, we are inviting our newcomers to a gathering where we will get to know each other better and share some things about the congregation. After we introduce ourselves, we plan to talk about the following:
- Some bits & pieces from our proud history
- How our congregation actually works.
- Our current social outreach
- Ways one can become involved in the congregation.
- How one becomes a member
A light lunch will be served, and childcare will be provided. Invitations have gone out to those who we think might be interested. After we know how many of these invitees are coming, we will plan where the meeting will be. We will keep this meeting to 90 minutes. Anyone who would like to attend should contact our Administrator at admin@uucsjs.org.

Worship Associate Basics
We will hold an important workshop for all Worship Associates, and people who are considering becoming a Worship Associate, on Sunday, February 19, after the service. Worship Associates who have served for years, as well as newer ones, should attend this session. For anyone who wants to see what is involved, please also attend. This will NOT be a lengthy meeting.
Flowers for the chalice table
Let's give a large shout out to Janet Longo for her many contributions to our chalice table. In case you haven't noticed, Janet is an artist with a flare in arranging weeds, pines, misc. winter greeneries and wooden artifacts in the most creative ways. Thanks so much, Janet. Hope you keep it coming!!!
Others are certainly encouraged to sign up to bring floral or other arrangement to grace our chalice table.
Let Colby know ahead of time or text 609-442-0967 to schedule your arrangements.
