RJ Richey Elementary Veterans Day Program

Due to our limited space to accommodate large crowds in conjunction with our student body, RJ is not hosting a community-wide Veteran's program this year. However, we are excited to pass the torch to our 5th grade student-body to lead this program for our school. Please see the Field of Honor information listed below for any Community Member that would like to participate in honoring our Veterans.

RJ Richey's Veterans Day Program is led by 5th grade students and our Fine Arts Teacher. We welcome all 5th grade parents to join us as this is one of their performances of the year.

However, because we know and respect that this is a very important day to honor all veterans, if you or another community member veteran would like to join us and enjoy this program, but do not have a student at RJ Richey Elementary, please complete this form so we can plan to welcome you and expect your attendance.

Thank you for all of the submissions to help us at RJ honor our Veterans in our Field of Honor. As a school community, we welcome you to tour our Field of Honor with each flag dedicated to a Veteran. Our Field of Honor display is a project from our Flag Core student leadership team at RJ, as our Bulldogs were invested in helping to build this tribute.

Veterans Day Program Visitor Information:

• Veterans Day visitor tickets will be sent home on November 8th for 5th graders in Take Home Folders for RJ 5th grade parents and visitors.
• Any and all other RJ parents / visitors will need to complete the Veterans Day form included above, as the performance is a 5th grade performance for the school and parents. We will have passes printed and available for visitors/guests that have completed the form so that we know to expect you.
• Due to campus safety and security measures, these tickets must be brought on the day of the ceremony to the program to avoid sign-ins with IDs at the front office. Having these family tickets completed and brought in, allows our families of performers to skip sign-in lines.
• Please read the details listed on your child's visitor ticket for more instructions.
• As a reminder, there will be designated seating area for our 5th grade parents, guests, and veterans. All students will be seated with their classes for the performance and will NOT be joining parents/visitors in the guest area.
• All students will be dismissed to class after the ceremony. Visitors / parents are not permitted to the classrooms. Any parent/visitor wishing to check their student out after the event must check the student out in the front office, with an ID, and be listed as an approved pickup in Skyward.

Our Bulldog BROS and Dynamic DIVA Dawgs will be hosting a dinner next Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00 - 5:30 pm for you to invite those family, friends and neighbors who are Veterans to attend.

RJ parents, please be sure that you've checked your child's Bulldog folder this week! There is a special permission form about the upcoming Elementary Pep Rally, where our RJ Bulldogs will be joining BHS on Thursday, Nov. 14th, for the playoff-bound pep rally!

Thank you to our students and RJ Parents for supporting student leadership roles at RJ! Our safety patrol, flag core, and celebration crew are essential members of our RJ daily life!

How do I request a change in transportation?

Submit an email on the same day as the transportation change request by 1:30 p.m. to:

rjr-transportation@burnetcisd.net.

Include the following details in the email:

• Student’s full name
• Student’s grade level
• Student’s homeroom teacher
• The transportation change you want made for today (bus rider to car rider or car rider to bus rider)

Requests made after 1:30pm will not be processed. Notes, phone calls, text messages and emails sent to any other email will not be processed.

• Who can submit a Staff Shout Out? Students, parents, teachers, auxiliary staff, coworkers, and all community members. Anyone can submit a Staff Shout Out!
• Who can receive a Staff Shout Out? Any employee of Burnet CISD. EVERY staff member is an important part of our team!
