Important Transportation Update for Parents/Guardians
To ensure the safety and efficiency of our school transportation system, students are required to ride only the bus they are assigned to. This policy helps us maintain accurate attendance and ensure that every student arrives home safely.
Exceptions can be made for consistent changes related to childcare needs on early release days. If your child requires a permanent change to their bus route due to a regular childcare arrangement, please contact Derek Hamilton, Transportation Supervisor at 563-285-9801 to discuss these accommodations. All requests must be arranged in advance.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all students safe.
HELP NEEDED!
PBIS volunteers needed: Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS)
Our school has developed a set of expectations or rules for your child's behavior at school. We will teach these expectations to all of our students, and we will recognize/reward students who meet the desired behavior with our school currency, "Eagle Bucks."
Eagle Bucks help us to identify, teach, model, & reinforce desired behaviors. If students are seenengaging in desired behaviors, they are recognized with Eagle Bucks. Students accumulate & keep track of these until they are redeemed at our school store.
Shopping days in our school store are scheduled monthly. A variety of items are available for students to purchase including toys, food, posters, and even special lunch dates. We would love any help you might offer in setting up/tearing down as well as helping student to redeem their bucks for their purchases.
The basics of how PBIS shopping works at Neil Armstrong:
- Shopping begins at 8:30 a.m.
- Done around 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.
- Held in Neil Armstrong's Art room.
- 3 or 4 volunteers are helpful. A few more at the first one.
- One or two classes shop at a time within a 15-minute window.
- Kids bring with them a slip of paper with their total number of Eagle bucks.
- Volunteers mark the slip with the total Eagle bucks spent.
- Volunteers keep the items straightened up on the tables.
- Set-up the day before shopping. About 60 minutes.
- 2 or 3 people for set-up.
