Inquiry Based Learning Spotlight
Mr. Sartorius’s guitar class had a performance with a special guest, Ms. Badi Assad from Brazil. The class played to an audience of students selected for their efforts during music class. Badi played guitar and showed students how to make their body into different percussion instruments. She played guitar, bass, percussion, and vocals all at the same time! Students tried their best to play along with their body percussion instruments. The students were able to ask questions and the performers had a reception after their performance. It was a wonderful experience!

What is Social Emotional Learning?
Social Emotional Learning advances educational equity and excellence through authentic school-family-community partnerships to establish learning environments and experiences that feature trusting and collaborative relationships, rigorous and meaningful curriculum and instruction, and ongoing evaluation. SEL can help address various forms of inequity and empower young people and adults to co-create thriving schools and contribute to safe, healthy, and just communities.
~As defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL)
