Nike Scout News
2024-2025 School Year
Greetings to all Nike Families,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well, and hope that you were able to enjoy some time away this summer. I am Dr. Jessica Tollison, and I am excited to start my fourth year as the Nike Principal and my twenty-second year in education. The Nike faculty and I have been preparing for the 2024-2025 school year which starts with our Open House on August 14th from 6-7 p.m. where you will meet your child’s teacher and tour their classroom.
On August 9th, you will be able to check Infinite Campus to see your child's teacher assignment. Additionally, your child’s teacher will be contacting you via email prior to Open House.
The Bridge Foundation Back-to-School Bash serving MVR-III families will be held Saturday, August 3rd, in the Pacific High School Cafeteria from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.. The Back-to-School Bash was created to provide under-resourced MVR-III families with a little extra support before they start school. The event will supply each student with a backpack, hygiene supplies, basic school supplies (based on the student's grade level), a new pair of shoes, and additional resources (while supplies last).

Transportation
First Week of School
In our ongoing efforts to establish positive student routines and avoid any confusion or miscommunication regarding transportation, we ask that students follow their regular pick-up/drop-off routine starting on the first day of school. Parents are welcome to meet their student at school, on the first day, after they arrive on the bus and snap a picture outside. Bus routes will be shared before the first day of school. Nike will have three busses. They are #13, #28, and #35.
KID Account
Parking/Visitor Passes/Bus Transfers
It is the goal of the Meramec Valley R-III School District to provide a safe environment for students. The district recognizes that rules regarding dismissal of students are a necessary part of the district’s safety program. There is a district bus transfer procedure in place to help keep students safe after dismissal. All visitors must enter the school through the office doors. Students who are going to be picked up before the end of the school day will be released through the office only. We will be using Kid Account again this year to dismiss students.
SACC Program
Birthday Celebration
In compliance with our Healthy Generation School goals, Nike will focus on healthy celebrations. To comply with the national health guideline, we do not accept birthday or holiday treats. Students will be recognized on the morning announcements and will get to choose a book off of the birthday cart.
Nike’s Open House is scheduled for
Wednesday, August 14th from 6-7 p.m.
Student supplies can be dropped off, meet the teachers, nurse, finish enrollment, enroll in SACC, PTO involvement, and much more!
A copy of your child’s updated shot record should be turned in to the office, as many shots are required by law. Special health conditions regarding your student should be reported through our Medical Information Form filled out during the annual student information update. You can bring your child's updated shot records to Open House on August 14th.
School Supply Lists
School breakfast & lunch
Studies show that a healthy breakfast gives children a head start to a successful day.
Money for your child's meal account can be deposited online or brought to school in an envelope with the student's name and grade.
You can access the Nike Elementary School Menu by clicking on the link below. Menus should be updated soon.
PTO Spotlight
Nike has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The organization has traditionally sponsored activities such as Movie Night, Breakfast with Santa, Trivia Night, Spring Carnival, and fundraisers to support the school. This year we are planning to hold similar events.
The Bridge Foundation Back-to-School Bash serving MVR-III families will be held Saturday, August 3rd, in the Pacific High School Cafeteria from 9:00 - 10:30 AM.
