SUAMICO ELEMENTARY RESCOURCES
Please send your student(s) to school each day with a healthy snack!
Medication Policy
Cold and flu season is beginning. Please remember to drop off any medications your student may need here at school (including any cough drops, Tylenol, cough medicine etc.) to the main office and fill out the medication form(s). Students may NOT carry any medicine (even cough drops) with them through out the day.
HSSD has a district-wide medication policy. Students requiring medication at school shall be identified by parents to the principal or school office. Students are not allowed to carry medication on their person for their safety and the safety of others. All medication will be dispensed from the office. You can reach our office by calling 920-662-9800.
If you would like to keep any medication at school for us to administer should your child need it, please bring it into the office along with the filled out Medication Form (link below).
Chaperoning for Field Trips
We are excited about the upcoming field trips this year! In order to ensure the safety of all our students, we require all volunteers who plan to join a field trip to have a completed and approved background check on file.
If you have not yet completed a background check, please take a moment to do so as soon as possible. The process is simple, and approval can take a few days, so we recommend submitting your application well in advance of any scheduled trips.
For more information on how to complete the background check see the links below! If you have any questions, please reach out to the office at 920-662-9800
IMPORTANT DROP OFF & PICK UP INFORMATION
The door for drop off in the morning is locked at 8:35am. If you arrive after that and don't see an adult outside please drop off your student(s) at the front office.
Please make sure that you are pulling all the way up to the northside of the building. For the safety of our students all students should be getting into the vehicle on the passenger side. We appreciate your support at our pick up and drop off line.
PICKING YOUR STUDENT UP EARLY?
If you are picking up your student early, please let the office know. If you would like to communicate it to their teacher as well, you can. However, if you just communicate to the teacher the office may be uninformed. You can reach the office at 920-662-9800 or you can email Jessica or Tanya. Emails are at the top of the newsletter. Thank you!
PRE-PLANNED ABSENCES
If your student is going to be absent 3 or more days please fill out the pre-planned absence form below.

School Social Work Corner
Our district team of school social workers has put together a fantastic summary of school and community resources. Our school social worker, Bobbi Nowaczyk (Miss Bobbi), would be happy to communicate with you further if/as/when needed. She can be reached via email at bobbnowa@hssdschools.org; or her cell phone: 920-714-1437.
As we enter into a new fiscal year, we challenge you to ask yourself "what small thing can I do each day to take care of myself so that I can show up for other people"? Oftentimes as caretakers, we get stuck in the "busy" of our child(ren)'s schedules, events, etc. Our hope for you is that you can find something small: whether that is taking 10 minutes to go on a walk, taking 5 extra minutes in the shower, or diving into a book you always wanted to read. Find ONE point of joy in your life.
As always, if you are in need of assistance, support, or coaching from a school social worker, we are here for you every step of the way!

Feeding the Volunteers:
We have also had quite a few emails inquiring about what The Giving Tree still needs for our upcoming Holiday Store on December 10 and 11.
Attached is a copy of our shopping list. We also created an Amazon Wish List. We know many of you are EXPERT Black Friday shoppers, so any great deal you find that you'd like to donate to the Holiday Store would be greatly appreciated! With all of the families registered already to shop at The Holiday Store come hundreds of children who walk through our school doors every day!
If there are any businesses, clubs or classrooms that are planning to collect items for the Holiday Store, please let us know if you have any specific questions for your group prior to collecting or shopping.
Looking forward to a strong end to November, some upcoming time with loved ones, and hopefully some great shopping!
